This is such a lovely old building with loads of history.
It's been run by some really bad managers that have run the place into the ground, bad food, bad manners, maybe when it opens again it has real managers that look after there customers.

Was taken here by my dad and can't say I enjoyed it. The menu is limited and fine is you like spicy Thai food. I decided on Cumberland Wheel sausage and chips. Came swimming in grease and nothing else on the plate, despite the menu saying it came with peas and onion gravy. Excuse was I asked for sausage and chips! so that's what I got. The whole place looked liked it needed some money spending on it and with the welcome, limited menu and the food that arrived, I won't be going back

I visited with a small group of friends, booked in advance. On arrival we were immediately welcomed by a friendly smile and greeting from the barmaid. It was quiet initially but became lively later. The bar stocks the usual selection of drinks, the beer was Sussex Bitter and Doom Bar. The restaurant and bar are in the style of the old timbered building. We chose our food from a wide selection of Thai, Malaysian and continental dishes. I chose salted ribs followed by Moules Mariniere. Others chose prawn cocktail, satay chicken, liver and onions, steak and ale pie and other things I can't recall. My food was well presented and very tasty. We all agreed the food was excellent. An interesting selection of desserts but several of us settled for ice cream, which was only £1.50 a scoop. The service was attentive but not intrusive and requests were dealt with rapidly. You might get the impression I liked this place..... You would be right!
