Laguna de Apoyo is a quiet place set on the riverside of a big lake. Water is clear and refreshing, this is an excellent place to relax for a couple of days although there is not much to to around.

Good and cheap priced food. Great price for drinks, too. Great view of Laguna de Apoyo. We ate and visited the hostel - Paradiso or Paradise... I could not locate it on here for the review so did it here.

Amazing time bathing there, unfortunately too short ! We got down from Diría mirador in the forest for a steep half hour walk, where we could also see monkeys just above us for the 1st time of our trip ! La laguna is magic, especially when the sun goes down, the light giving a special atmosphere. The water is refreshing... More

There are only a few places in the country I would call a MUST (Ometepe, Somoto canyon, volcano Telica for example), and the laguna is on that list, too. It's a beautiful blue/green/emerald lake surrounded by mountains. And it's not that touristy at all. There are only a few hotels/hostels and most of the laguna isn't developed yet (on the... More

Laguna di Apoyo must be in your to do list while visiting the region. The water is crystalline and spending an afternoon there is really worth it ! If you are visiting the "pueblos blancos" you can walk down to the Laguna from the mirador of Diria. A nice and steep hike before and after enjoying your time in the... More

Don't skip this!! We stayed here for 3 nights instead of Granada and just did a day trip to Granada. We're so happy with our choice. The laguna is one of the most beautiful places we've seen.

It was really easy to get to the Lagoon using the local bus and hitch-hiking from Granada. It saved us a lot of money compared to the taxis. The water was beautiful and hot, and the landscape was alright. It was a fun day-trip to go swimming and refresh yoursefl from the heat of the city, but that is pretty... More

We took a tour/trip as many others did at a cost of $15 per person to the Hostal Paradiso. This not reasonable in any way, it is a short journey to be taken to a place where they want to sell you food and drink. The beach is small but OK, but there is not enough seats on the beach.... More

It's not every day that one can spend an afternoon enjoying an extinct volcano crater lake. The drive into the area is in and of itself an experience. If you are anywhere near this area while visiting Nicaragua, pleas don't pass up the chance to go. There are many properties around the lake that offer accommodations, food and access to... More
