I know, I know. Spain is lousy with castles. In this case, it is one of the few truly interesting things about this town. And the wine.

The area was taken by the Muslims in 713, here built here a castle called Yumilla. There is a bus that takes you up and down the hill for a small fee an excellent idea. The castle although small offers some interesting features and has...More

Only a €1 entry, but not open every day in October. Still a lovely walk up from two directions and great panoramas from the top. More for the views than the restored castle.

Very nice walk uphill, but you can go by bus, too. The castle is beautiful and well preserved. The views over Jumilla are stunning! Worth a visit.

This site has a little walking so not suitable for disabled. The views from the castle over Jumilla are amazing and a must do if staying in the area. Steeped in history and well preserved

A pleasant uphill walk to the castle (minibuses do run) with views over the area at the top. Inside the castle, helpful displays in English and Spanish explain the history of the venue.

It costs €1 entry to this wonderful place though not for the disabled visitor with it's steep steps. However, if you are in the area it is a must see attraction. A beautiful old Castle with lots of restoration work visible. Many of the rooms...More
