Very pretty monestary with nice surroundings! We visited the area by accident and liked it a lot.
The whole place is ancient and you can find old gravestones, ruins, etc. The view of the lake enclosed is also nice.
I highly recommend a visit!

Actually, its qauite good and you get to feel the size and history, while the exhibitions...

... are not overly impressive, but rather report on the engravings in stones.

Chorin is "huge" - the main Church is really huge, and for a place so far off the beaten track it must have been quite aplace 500y ago.

You get a feel for that, and that is quite nice!

I went to Kloster Chorin with a friend, my Goddaughter and her sister for an afternoon. We couldn't see it all as there was a concert on in the main cloister. The parts I saw were beautiful and I enjoyed the concert from the grass outside. The children who ranged from 9 to 5 years also enjoyed looking round the building and playing on the grass. Getting there we drove through the gorgeous Brandenburg countryside, the whole afternoon was very tranquil. The only advice I would give is take a camera and wear some insect repellent, it is near a lake and I got bitten by a mosquito the size of a medium house spider! I am not joking, I thought it was a spider when I grabbed it after feeling the bite. According to my friend the big mozzies are getting more common. But don't let that put you off going too a lovely spot which will recharge your batteries (I do seem to be attractive to biting insects though!)

Beautiful historic ruins in a beautiful countryside. Stopped by chance for a rest, had a nice walk by the lake, took a few photos. There's a restaurant and a free parking. Worth a visit.

Nice place to see.

Beautifully located old monastery. Tickets little too expensive (6€),as for somewhat empty buildings. But concerts must be amazing there. (I only heard concert rehearsal)

A wonderful place - in summer particularlyfor music-lovers

This old, half-ruined Gothic monastery is well worth a detour and a visit. he structure has been maintained - and is now used for "open-air" classical concerts in summer (see "Choriner Sommer" for more details.
There is a little village with pubs and a museum attached.
You will definitely not regret a visit!!

One of the most beautiful locations in Brandenburg
Dec 2015 • Friends
Kloster Korin is the ruin of a former Cistercian monastery and one of the most beautiful destinations in Brandenburg. My recommendation: Take the train from Berlin to Chorin (under one hour) and then walk from the beautiful station to the Monastery. It should take you about half an hour through a beautiful wood. Remember that there is a very tasteful café there, where you can have something to drink and eat, so you can gather strength and continue. There is not really much to see in the Monastery itself, but the location is beautiful and the atmosphere almost magic. If you feel like it, I definately recommend the walk (about 90 minutes) from there to the nearby village of Brodowin.
In the summer you should visit one of the concerts that take place there, but I think it's even more beautiful off season.

Friday in November... Had the place to ourselves!
Nov 2015 • Couples
We showed up around noon on a Friday in November. This is such a secluded spot, but so worth taking a peek. The grounds are lovely, and on this particular day they were covered in a hazy, almost foggy light. The pictures were beautiful, and we had our run of the place. We paid a 4€ entrance fee and were left to explore the many rooms of the monastery. Most of the signage is in German, but you can read a bit on the internet before you go. Because that is a bit of a downer.

Afterwards, have a hike by the lake and to the train station. As we walked, we didn't see another person. The trees were beautiful, all splendid red and golden leaves falling everywhere. In my opinion, fall is a beautiful time to visit! Summer probably brings so many tourists and locals... Whereas we saw nobody.

The only downside is that the cafe was closed, as they're only open on weekends during the late fall/winter season. But the bathrooms were spotless, and the staff was friendly. This would be a great place to take a hike, a bike, a kid, your parents, etc. Also, the beautiful red stone against such a nice landscape offers some truly beautiful photographs.

If you're taking the train, there are plenty of signs everywhere pointing you the way to the monastery.

Worth a look if you're in the area

Pleasant relaxing deserted ( bare) church which is worth a stop if you want a beam from a long drive. It will take you 15 mins to wander around the spectacular church which is almost like an old ruin.
Car park 400m away is a clearly signposted area. Pleasant cafe to relax in.
