After having just returned from a photographic Safari in South Africa, where I was able to see and photograph the big 5, I can honestly say my love of Cabercena Animal Reserve has not diminished at all. Although the animals are in enclosures and are fed by their human hosts, this park is a glory to behold and a spectacular... More

I've been to zoos and animal parks in multiple countries and this is my favourite. I love the large enclosures for the animals (who seem quite content and well-cared-for). You definitely need at least one whole day here as it takes a long time to go around and you don't want to rush. The sea lion show is great (the... More

This is not a typical zoo, so make sure you know what you are letting yourself in for, before going. There's a lot of driving between animal habitats on narrow roads and lots of parking. If looking for parking spaces frustrates you, try to go at a quiet time. Entry is cheaper later in the day. The animals have lots... More

This visit was much more enjoyable than we expected. We cam after 3.30 p.m., thus we even had a lower entrance fee and started with the show of sea lions. It was a little bit lenghty at times, but the animals were well trained and seemed to enjoy. From the park, besides the great environment and jagged rocks, we loved... More

I was expecting great things of this park having researched it on line. The "natural" settings for the animals with very few bars or glass screens really appealed. In reality I was surprised by the difference in enclosures in terms of size. The elephants had a very large grassed area with a minimal amount of concrete around the elephant houses.... More

What a fantastic place. You drive the car between a hilly landscaped terrain and move from location till location. The animals are terrific, in sometimes huge numbers (bears). The 'cages' are enormous so the animals have place enough to wander around and are sometimes harder to see (especially the elephants) but the gorillas are truly amazing!! We had a big... More

Great visit with the kids. One of the best safari parks I've been to with large enclosures for the animals and a good variety. You can get close to them as well. Would definately recommend it

Beautiful place to visit with your family. the former mines have left an incredible landscape in the middle of the mountains. it would absolutely deserve a visit, even if no wildlife were there. get ready to take your car, and walk, and take your car and walk again. a Mix of zoo and safary park. Probably the more interesting settings... More

Incredible natural park. You can choose to go for half a day (15€ pp) or the whole day (30€ pp): Both options are great. A visit that in my opinion is a must if you ever decide to visit the wonderful land of Cantabria!

Went here last weekend and it was packed. We were the only people who walked the whole park which is quite a distance. However, it was only the first couple of km that were hard as it was uphill. The park is missing pavements for pedestrians, even people who drive but get of their car to look at the animals... More
