Cabarceno is not a Zoo as one might expect first hand. This is a a park where the animals experience freedom in an enclosed space. The stetting has breathtaking views, and one enjoys the experience of contemplating the wild life almost like it's own habitat. What I like about it is the fact that the animals are cared for and... The park is great. The enclosures are generally excellent and some are incredible. In august the queues are far too much, nobody's fault, but it makes the failure to see anything in certain enclosures more irritating. Bird show is fantastic. The real downer is the behaviour of the visitors. Tapping on an occasional window or clapping hands at the animals... More

Spent about six hours here experiencing the beautiful park and wonderful animals roaming around. Totally disgusted to end our circuit at sea lion show with animals jumping through hoops doing tricks etc to a huge crowd. This did not fit at all with our overall experience of animals roaming around this spectacular and vast reserve.

August afternoon visit. The place is good, the animals have plently of space to wonder around and they look happy. As bad points: there were too many people and traffic jams were frequent. Poor pedestrians conditions and the kids were constantly tripping out. Much of the walking is done on the road. Road signs could be improved. Expensive. Not enough... More

We (me, my wife and two kids ages 11 and 9) almost didn't go to Cabarceno because I thought it was just another zoo but one that you had to drive through. I am so glad that we did though. We all loved it. It is massive. The enclosures were huge yet, because of the way it was set up... More

The best place I have visited this holiday and probably the best zoo ever. The enclosures are big and very natural. The views are amazing all around the park. We visited in August it was busy but not at the point of traffic lines. You can drive through from one place to another easy. Plenty parking and restaurants to eat... More

I definitely recommend this place, not only for families with children, but also for teenagers. It has views that you don't get to see every day.. In order to visit the whole park, you have to spend at least 5 hours there. You can visit it by driving your own car. My advice is to get there as early in... More

It should be a nice place to visit during low season but during the month of August is a total mess due to the number of people visiting. You spend more time on the car than seeing the animals.

This is a really special wildlife\safari park just outside Santander in Calabria. They have created a BIG drive-through area in what looks like the hills of an old iron mining area (?) to house hundreds of wild animals, from cheetahs, lions and tigers, to elephants, gorillas, baboons, llamas etc. Itś cleverly landscaped so you can get wonderful vistas of animals... We were staying in this beautiful region with our children of 6 and 9 and spent the most glorious day in this place. we had not if coffee/hot chocolate and toast in the next door Restaurante Los Elefantes before entering. Prepare to be wowed by the vista on entering. Plenty to see and wonderful to feel a part of this... More
