Private Tour: Las Alpujarras Day Trip from Granada

3 reviews
Discover the unspoiled natural beauty of Las Alpujarras on this private day trip from Granada. Set off from Granada aboard a private, climate-controlled vehicle with your very own guide, and travel into the heart of Las Alpujarras, nestled at the foot of Sierra Nevada, Spain’s highest mountain range. Travel past enchanting, white-washed villages that cling to the hillsides, and gaze out at terraced farmland that stretches upward some 6,561 feet (2,000 meters). You’ll also enjoy an included Alpujarreno lunch above the Ravine of Poqueira.

I've bought a carpet here last year and although a lot of 'fluff' gets into the vacuum cleaner, it is still a nice carpet for little money. This year I bought another one for my son... They may not last a lifetime but who cares. You can wash the carpets if your machine can handle the size. Don't even try to bargain with the lady, she is a tuff cookie! 😃

Pampaniera is only small but full of character. There are plenty of rug and other souvenir shops where you can buy that memory of the stunning Alpujarras. A good range of cafes to choose from with reasonable prices. I particularly enjoyed the cold soup made with salmon, ham and egg. If you are looking for a rug you can watch them being made on an old fashioned loom up one of the side alleys. We really enjoyed our visit here

Mini chocolate pieces to pig out on from a vast range of E3.50 local handmade chocolate bars. Highly recommended. Outside on the dress rail a good range of colourful 'A' line One Size dresses made in India for the Spanish market, for the 'Rubenesque' ladies, like moi-meme! Inside is cool from the heat of the day and good for gifts. If on a tour, you need at least 30 mins in the shop. First shop on the left hand side coming out of the car park. ATM machine not good to get cash close by. Shop takes credit and cash cards. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

The food was ok but nothing special. The staff appeared a little distant. The restaurant did not stock Rose wine or Pacharan (a well known Spanish drink). There are better restaurants in Bubion than this one.
