Great fun on this inflatable play area for both kids and adults alike. In the sea and located just off the beach area.. Easy to get to and the safety is very planned and there are water life savers aplenty..

Aquaarena is a large inflatable playground out at sea aprrox 20 metre swim from the beach. It's 10e for an hour and you get given life jackets and there are life guards on the site. You swim out to the arena and then haul yourself on. Then there are obstacles and climbing and slides and trampolines. Children 10yrs up seemed to be the most agile at getting round and pulling themselves out of the water. My 13 and 11 year old loved it and were exhausted at the end. I, however as a late 40 something found it much trickier. Even getting on at the beginning was difficult with a bulky lifejacket and suncream on it was like an episode of Total Wipeout.Without some extra adults yanking me on by my lifejacket I don' think I couldve done it. There are no footholds to get a good push up just handles. It could probably do with a foot loop at the beginning somewhere just to get on. Once on the surfaces are extremely slippery , a combination of vinyl surfaces, suncream and a slightly choppy sea. The lifeguards had slipper type things on their feet which may be much easier for gripping the surface, could be an option ? Great fun but don't underestimate the effort if you are older and less agile. They also have sites at Almunecar and Marbella. We come to the Costa Tropical every year so will definitely be added to our list of things to do.
