Alpujarra Bikes, established in 2016, a bike shop in Las Alpujarras on the main road into the high mountains of Mulhacen and Veleta, including the highest cyclable pass in Europe at 3200m. We have bicycles to rent (road, xc, enduro, electrica, childrens) and a full workshop for repairs and services. We also stock a wide variety of spares, sports nutrition and clothing. If you love cycling and getting into the wilds of nature, come and visit us! I rented a bike for 1 day at short notice. Brian and Lynn made sure the bike was ready, in good condition and that I had all the information I needed to head out for a decent ride. They gave me a good overview of the roads, possible routes, what to look out for on the way and what to be aware of.
Prices were fair and bike was in excellent condition, tunned, smooth and running well.
It was great chatting to them, learning from their local knowledge.
Hope to see them again if I go back.

Hired 2 bikes for couple days as part of mixed mountain week. Communicated with Brian several weeks previously, quick response and helpful. Even coped with a last minute change. Was able to provide pedals for my cycling shoes. Bikes were ready when arrived to collect. We were recommended 2 cracking cross country routes that were just what we wanted. Bikes perfectly set up and we had no problems. Perfect experience hence the 5 stars.

The owner of our holiday apartment recommended Alpujarra Bikes; excellent advice. After discovering that the highest point on the Iberian peninsula was just behind where I was staying, I thought, "Mountain Bike". Brian and Lynn advised on routes (plus some extra singletrack I might be interested in) and rented me a full-sus (Mondraker Dune) bike for the day. A number of hours later I had taken many photos and reached the highest point allowed on a bike by the Park Authority (3100m). Then came the return... 27km of downhill... enough to put a big smile on anyone's face. I won't be forgetting that one; thankyou Brian & Lynn.

Fantastic mountain bike experience in Andalusia. Beautiful surroundings! Bikes are of excellent quality. The e-bikes were a great joy for our teens! Very friendly & professional service with excellent explanations of the various bike trails.

We hired two bikes for a week at fairly short notice. Great initial comms by email and fantastic service when we arrived at the shop.

We went to the shop to buy a map (they have an excellent trail map available for 12 euros) and to ask about bikes and rides. Very knowledgeable about local rides (and walks - we asked about those too). Finally hired a bike today - new bike (this year's new stock) all properly adjusted. They include helmet, water bottle, toolkit and lock in the hire. Very pleased. The owners are English. Very pleased!

A couple who hire out and repair bikes (mainly mountain bikes).
Set in Bubion, a location for serious mountain bikers and, a couple of years ago, the end of a mountain stage for the Veulta.
Because they know first hand the local area and routes their advice is invaluable.
The repair and maintenance side means the hire bikes are in first class condition and people who bring their own bikes can rely on spares and repairs.
People to be trusted who speak English and Spanish.

Good bikes, very nice and helpful owner. Rented e-mountain bikes and was able to cycle much further than expected. Nice area for cycling. Recommended!
