For my birthday I was gifted a Kingfisher Spotting experience. The group was small comprising of 5/6 people and the weather was perfect for the early start in the morning. Steve was an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable about bird habits and helpful in assisting me with my wildlife photography skills. We were fortunate enough to encounter many different birds and in particular, Kingfishers. I would definitely recommend this experience to keen bird watchers and nature lovers, and I look forward to joining other GG Wildlife experiences soon.

I recently spent the morning with Steven on a photography tour which was a birthday gift to me. I had such an enjoyable time, being an amateur nature photographer myself, I was keen to see what I could learn from Steven. I wasn't disappointed at all, I learnt new things about some birds and their behaviour. It wasn't just learning new things about birds, I also learnt about many creatures, some flowers and landscapes too. Steven really goes in to great detail to explain different things and it was from the detail I learnt a lot, fascinating facts and information. What I had learnt on the day I have already shared with others. Everything about the day with Steven was perfect, he takes his time to explain many different things to the last detail, and it really does make a difference. You just know you are in the presence of someone who not only knows his stuff about nature but really cares about nature too. The location is stunning too, lovely villages on the Thames river. I would highly recommend spending time with Steven, you will not be disappointed, far from it, you will learn a great deal as well as having fun. Top man, top day.

A fantastic morning on Thursley Common with Steven. A real treat to walk around with such an experienced guide. We set off early and Steven identified the bird song before we spotted the birds and took us to spots to look for birds that we really hoped to see. We were lucky, the weather warmed up and so the insects took to the air. We had hobbys overhead, saw a cuckoo and redstarts. We had several 'new' birds for our year lists and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommended. Will definitely try to book future field trips with Steven.

We went on the Goring Riverside Return walk on a Friday afternoon. It covered a roue we had done before but was greatly enhanced by having such a knowledgable guide. Steven spotted things we would never have seen by ourselves and encouraged us to stop, look and listen. If things were too small for us to see easily he took photographs and showed us on a screen so that we knew what we were looking for and gave us a lot of background on each species. We are both in our 70s, walk regularly but have the usual joint issues that our age brings but we mangedto walk easily. I'm know Steven does more challenging outings for anyone who wants them.

It was a beautiful morning, glorious light and a fine mist swirling over the Thames. It would have been a delightful walk whatever we saw but with Steve’s intimate knowledge of his “local patch”, keen eye and even keener ear our expectations were exceeded. We saw seven individual kingfishers, not just the usual blue flash either, two males doing their bobbing territorial dance, a catch and swallow, two fledglings chasing each other. Away from the river in we saw linnets and a large mixed flock of redwings and fieldfares, the first of the season. Two more highlights were my favourite bird, a nuthatch and my husband’s favourite, a firecrest. Steve was very generous with his knowledge and we both learnt more about the birds we saw. Overall a brilliant experience and highly recommended.

This experience surpassed mine and my wife's expectations. Steve is so interesting to talk to and is a wealth of knowledge about wildlife, photography and locations to visit.
We saw a kingfisher within minutes of starting the tour and then went on to see more, along with robins, cormorants, chiff-chaff and otters, to name a few.
We stopped at several points and listened and waited and sure enough we had various wildlife sightings. The experience has certainly taught me to slow down, listen and wait.
I have walked in this area before but have never come across the abundance of wildlife as I did on this occasion. Nothing it seems was deterred by the wet weather, as Steve said 'everything still has to eat'.
Highly recommended!

We met with Steve for an early morning start and within an hour and maybe 500m, we had seen 7 kingfishers from three family territories - just for starters! We would have seen none of them without Steve's deep knowledge of wildlife and the area. He heard the briefest of bird calls and was on it straight away - telling us what it was and where it was likely to be seen (which particular clump of bushes). We are birdwatchers with some knowledge and in his friendly way, he taught us so much more and what to listen out for. The walk was so good, that anyone would come away having learned a great deal about wildlife in general. We also saw loads of other birds plus damselflies, butterflies and orchids. He took some stunning pictures of red kites and that's another plus from Steve. His camera setup was so good that he could take a pic, zoom the image and a kingfisher would emerge from the gloom of bushes on the other side of the river, only then could we see it through our binoculars. Of course, he was sharp enough to see if fly into the bushes in the first place and then he could point us to the spot. Overall a fantastic walk, full of interest and information, all delivered in a friendly way. We will return to Steve for another walk in the future.

We met Steve at 7.00am on a perfect morning weather wise! We went straight down to the river and within seconds we were seeing wildlife. Steve pointed out a Kingfisher immediately. He is very knowledgeable and explained to us in detail what we were seeing, and what we needed to listen out for. We walked along the river and climbed to the top of Goring Gap. The views and scenery were stunning. We saw a Jay,Kite, Buzzard, Kestral and some Deer amongst many species of wildlife. Steve’s wildlife knowledge is extensive and this is what brings alive a walk in nature. We left him feeling that we had learnt a great deal. His walks are inspirational and we would recommend spending time doing one of his experiences. You will get a huge amount from it.

This was my 2nd boat cruise with Steve and GG Wildlife Experiences, and just like the first trip, it didn't disappoint. We had beautiful weather, with mist on the water at 6am to set the scene. Saw several Kingfishers, a Magpie chasing off a Sparrow hawk, Buzzards, Red Kites, Grey Wagtail family, Swan families with cygnets, and all with a lovely pastry breakfast. Steves knowledge of the area and wildlife is second to none and I would highly recommend any of his trips.

Amazing Wildlife walk along the River Thames. So much to see when a guide like Steve can pinpoint it out to you. I've walked on my own in the hope of seeing an Otter in the wild for many years with no success, however with Steve's keen ear and knowledge he came up trumps with an amazing display in front of my eyes from a female otter. Kingfishers are quite elusive and yet we saw 3 different birds just sitting waiting to have their photo taken, one even flew straight over our heads. Watching a Cormorant having a breakfast fish in front of us was another highlight. I can highly recommend a walk with GG Wildlife Experiences.
