Delicious family run business and boutique
Sep 2020 • Couples
A truly enjoyable and delicious trip. It’s a charming family run business with a small museum displaying interesting materials used for chocolate making as well as a brief history of the family business. It is well worth a visit if even just for the boutique where you can enjoy all kinds of made in-house chocolates, macarons and ice cream alongside a cup of coffee or tea. Merci familie Defroidmont!

Sweet stop
Feb 2019 • Friends
Place was packed because it was a special happening during the weekend so it was a bit difficult to get in/out of the building. I don't know if it is this crowded normally. Anyway, a nice place to stop in the middle of nowhere really. Nice chocolate that you can buy and take home. You could also get something to drink and something sweet to eat at the premises. Small museum with some interesting info about cocoa and the making of chocolate and macarons. The museum was free of charge this weekend, but I think you have to pay to enter normally.

Chocolate-lovers paradise

Chocolaterie Defroidmont is in an idylic location and well worth a visit. The museum, telling the story of the chocloate-maker's family, the history of chocolate and a view of the art of chocolate making was most interesting with en excellent (English) commentary and all quite hi-tech. The chocolate was of course divine. There was also coffee/tea/hot chocolate etc. with declicious looking cakes and gateaux on offer.

Good chocolate, long tour
Aug 2016 • Family
The tour isn't really that long, but done in two languages so double the time. My kids were just bored until we got to the part where they showed how to make the chocolates. You get to taste some at the end, yum. There are plenty of chocolates to buy, on the expensive side, but still delicious. The area is fabulous and I would go again just for the drive. A good stop on your trip if you are a chocolate fanatic like me, or if you just like to know how they make it.

This is worth finding! We were so impressed with the display and history story told in English and Dutch. You get to taste awesome confections and watch them making them Stayed for a coffee and cake. Walk about the ground and see the birds and bees. Very hospitable and friendly hosts. Be sure to add this to your tour of the Ardennes. Buy Chocolates!

It's not only the shop of chocolate.
1- Museum - about 35 minutes about the history of this family, how the coco come in Belguim, how they do the chocolate - for too ,uch small children ,ay be not so interessting, but for the adultes - yes
2 - chocolate - you can find your pleasure
3 - cafe - when we visited this pleace, it was cold, so the hort chocolat or tea with chocolat - the best way to warm up.

Perfect place to stop for a coffee and a bite of delicious chocolate.
Sep 2015 • Family
The visit to the shop (without entering the musesm) gave us a glimpse to the process of creation hand made chocolate.
We were welcomed with a plate of chocolates, the one with a cream brulle filling was excelent... after buying some chocolates we enjoyed coffee and chocolate mouse cake outside, with a perfect view, while the kids explored the bees route in the garden for at least 20 min....
