The museum is located on one of the main roads on the entrance of the city of Ioannina, and is easily accessible with ample parking.

The museum has been a very interesting visit, arranged in 36 exhibits/life-size dioramas depicting scenes ranging from the Greek war of independence (1821), second world war (front with the Italians 1940 and concentration camps) up to the Cyprus issue.

The museum is arranged into a single-way, relatively narrow corridor that passes through all the exhibits.

Overall a good experience, have however to note two issues.

First issue is that corridors at the entrance are dimly lit, and especially coming from the daylight into them, can be a challenge see where you're going (and this can be an issue for older people).

Second issue and perhaps the most important is that there was congestion inside. Although I noticed a sign stating that only 14 people were allowed inside due to COVID-19 restrictions, people were just kept coming in and as a result there were way more people inside, creating a rather uncomfortable (and hazardous) situation inside...

Hence the 3 stars... Shame, as otherwise it's a very interesting museum...

Museum looks interesting but only to those who know Greek history. For foreigners they don't do any guided tour. Nevertheless statues look pretty vivid.

Mr Vrellis, the sculptor, did a great job in representing part of the greek history with his realistic wax figures and wax works. You can actually realise the feelings just by noticing the facial expressions. However the museum does not offer a guided tour, so I would suggest to visit as part of a group tour with a guide to those not familiar with greek history. Photos and videos are not allowed.

The wax works were amazing but unless you know about Greek history and associated characters you'll be completely lost as I was.

An interesting retrospection of Greek history over the last 200 years or more. The exhibits look alive, which is a reward for the artist and his talent.

This is very impressive. However, if you do not know anything about the recent history of Greece (past ~200 years...) you are not going to learn from this exhibit - hard to understand the basis for all of the positive reviews.... Most of the wax figures were not really doing anything...they were just there...

Since such Museums are neither sightseeing or entertainment venues, it is apparent that our informative leaflet was neglected by you (to put it lightly). If truly interested, you could have visited our website, to draw and process ample information about the themes, the unique nature of both the artist and his creations, instead of rhetorically wondering about some “basis” of criticism. Please, assimilate creatively first, and express opinion afterwards. Konstantinos P. Vrellis

The museum is definitely worth a visit and the work done there is simply magnificent.
Single-handedly made by one man (Mr Vrellis) who started from zero, and created the building, the statues and the "scenery" for the exhibits.

Images and scenes from the recent Greek history of the revolution against the Ottoman and the life under the bloodthirsty vicious tyrant Ali Pasha the Tepelenly.

Very interesting wax status and to see how was Greeks life and her history; a nice wax museum, the figures seems very natural.

Nicely done but for 6€ per person yo should be able to expext some information from the guide! Even the signs were very unsufficient on information! Wax figures are very well done!
