Surreal

A surreal place to see and visit. Undoubtedly it was once a special place for a good reason, now, due to radiation risks, you take care to touch as little as possible

The icon of Pripiat
Oct 2019
After reactor number 4 itself the ferris wheel is the icon of Chernobyl. This amusement park is a must see in the 10km Chernobyl exclusion zone, that´s why it´s in all tour programs so do not worry, there´s no visit to Chernobyl and Pripiat without going to this place.

Amazing
Oct 2019
This was such a cool tour of a desolate city. So much information available if you hire a good tour guide.

Not sure how I can rate the outcome of a tragedy like this but this was one of my favorite moments of the tour so far. I guess this is one of the most photographed places here. The fair is very eerie. We did the tour on a Wednesday in November, the whole area was really empty. Unfortunately we had a right schedule and 15 minutes are barely enough. Got some beautiful pictures here and the place left a deep impression. It’s hard to imagine that it was never in use and now it is slowly rotting away.

Pripyat - the strongest impression
Oct 2019
First, let me tell you it's hard to rate such a disaster and eerie site with 5 stars.
Among several things you visit on an amazing Chernobyl tour, Pripyat is surely the strongest one.
33 y ago Pripyat was a prosperous new built town made for the NPP workers, who had several times higher wages than others. Beside that, they had many more social and entertainment facilities than ordinary in the USSR including cinemas, culture palace, swimming pools, football stadium and of course this amusement park.
Unfortunately, they never enjoyed it as it was about to open only 4 days after the disaster occured.
Today, it serves as a bitter and creepy reminder of those days and is surely the most photographed and famous site in the Exclusion zone.

Eerie and surreal
Oct 2019 • Friends
As part of our CHERNOBYL TOUR guided tour, we visited the Amusement Park, something so recognisable to us in pictures and videos, but nothing could have prepared us for the eeriness or surreal was to it all. Terrifically different. There’s almost no words to describe it.

Interesting place to visit in Pripyat, but don't expect it to look like in the games!
Oct 2019
This amusement park was actually never in use. It was built and planned to be inaugurated May 1st 1986, but as you know, this never happened. There are carousels, a Ferris wheel, swing boats and bumper cars. The first person shooter game Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare takes, in part, place here. However, don't expect it to look like in the game. It is similar, but the house with the swimming pool is not next to it, and the bumper cars are not immediately beside the ferris wheel. Nevertheless, very exciting and interesting to visit.

Surreal experience to visit this place
Aug 2019 • Friends
Was an amazing experience to go and visit this place considering it never got used. The dodgem cars and Ferris wheel just give you the weirdest feeling when you go there, in fact the Ferris wheel still shows high levels of radiation near the bottom cage/seat if you put your meter near it.
