Garden Gem on the Islandmagee Penisula
Jul 2021
Visted one of the most majestic open to the public private gardens in County Antrim during the summer heatwave. Lovely little trails and flower displays across the site with a bountiful amount of wildlife from garden birds, day flying moths and lots of bees making themselves seen and heard. Fantastic views of the County Antrim coastline, Magheramorne Quarry and Larne Town in the distance. Finished with some iced coffees and cafe treats in the shade in the herbs and vegetable garden. Highly recommend visiting this garden bonanza on any sunny day.

Beautiful
Jun 2021 • Friends
It was an absolute delight to visit the garden especially with the very warm welcome from Cherry.
Cottage gardens are so beautiful at this time of year with the lovely blends of mainly blues/pinks/ purple palette with the occasional claret and yellow statement pieces - looks as if it happened by accident but I perceive there’s over 20 years of thought and experience behind the displays.

Bucket list
Jul 2019 • Friends
My second time to visit these amazing gardens, this time unfortunately the weather was very wet so we took shelter in the barn and enjoyed Cherrys mums lovely biscuits with a cup of coffee and waited for the rain to stop. We then took a wonderful wander around the gardens which are broken into several areas, each one better that the last. My first 'tea garden' !
Would highly recommend anyone that loves gardens add this one to their bucket list.

Autumn colour workshop
Aug 2018 • Solo
We were first at Kilcoan Gardens for the charity open day and was tempted back for a workshop. I loved it so much. The garden is great because it's so natural with a weed popping up here and there just like my own! I would recommend a sunny morning here rather than a spa. It'll do you the world of good and inspire you to get designing you own piece of paradise.

Beautiful day
Jun 2018 • Family
I would recommend these gardens to anyone. The staff were so so friendly and it’s set In a beautiful location. Lovely views. Gardens are just amazing. Really well kept with lots of different paths and arches into different sections. Kids loved running around exploring. Self service tea looked lovely. Buns and biscuits were 60p and 80p and tea £1. Fee for gardens is £3 per adult and us also self service. You have to leave correct change in box.

Memorable and Interesting
Aug 2017 • Family
We only discovered this beautiful and interesting garden by chance after coming across a leaflet in The Gobbins Visitor Centre. It is a fascinating place for anyone who especially enjoys growing plants from seed. Divided into 'rooms', there is much to capture your interest and admire. Cherry manages this very large garden almost entirely on her own, and she does so organically, including the vegetable garden and a cut flower garden which she uses to create bouquets for weddings etc. You are likely to find her at work when you arrive but she still finds time to talk to visitors and share the secrets of her success. It would be an excellent garden for an apprentice gardener to learn about organic gardening.
A lovely place to visit and children will especially enjoy seeing the chickens. Thanks Cherry for a very memorable and interesting day, we will return next year.

Happy Sunday
Jul 2017 • Couples
What a beautiful walk around Kilcoan this afternoon. It was perfect for a look at all the summer bedding and the scent was just beautiful from the roses, nicotiana, lavender and many others. Cherry was weeding and if you want to find out any names of the flowers she will be able to answer your questions. I love Kilcoan and it's always worth a trip to see what's new. This year Cherry has added a fabulous pond which has settled in very nicely and 3 new beds all with stone work at their bases. Please go you won't be disappointed 😀

Well worth the trip
Jul 2017
We decided to make the extra journey out to islandmagee to visit this garden and were very glad we did. The garden broken into several areas is an absolute delight. We were greeted by a lovely lady who explained the layout and gave us a map of the gardens. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a bigger selection of plants for sale as I wanted to take home so many.

Thanks so much Maura for your review! I am definitely working on growing a larger quantity of plants for next year as I had underestimated the demand of all our lovely visitors for this year! Hope to see you again some time! Thanks again Cherry
