Carbis Bay Beach

Lovely clean beach, very family friendly. Watch out as the tide comes in fast and can reach the walkway. The kids will love crab fishing off the walkway

I can't believe we have a beach like this in the U.K.! To get to the beach you turn off the main road just outside St Ives, following signs to Carbis Bay Hotel and the station. Although it's a nice residential area, that doesn't prepare you for the view that is about to open up before your eyes. I'm stunned... More

Stunning location, beautiful walk along the coast from St Ives. Me and my husband walked here and had lunch at the Carbis Bay Hotel. Right on the beach... was beautiful!

Lovely beach, but a bit of a climb down to it. The sand is really good for children and there are plenty of rock pools to explore as well

A stunning beach we wished the dog walking hours were more flexible as getting up at 5am when on holiday is a bit of a downer on Cornwall... But the hours until 8am were lovely.. Maybe if Cornwall Council allowed an evening walk too that would help us visiting and residential dog owners.. as when we went in September come... More

Spent a long weekend here and was not disappointed as the weather was perfect which makes it a lot better. The views from Carbis Bay to Hayle Towans are fantastic and a must see if in the area. If you have a problem walking it is not too good to get around although the local bus and train services are... More

Beautiful beach in a nice quiet area, but only a short walk (or even shorter train ride!) to St Ives. Quite hilly, though, so maybe not very suitable for those people with mobility difficulties, sadly!

We were touring around and thought we would just pop down to the beach to have a look, but the parking was £5.00 for the day - no concessions for just an hour or so, so we drove on

Carbis Bay, between St. Ives and Lelant on the Southwest Coast Path, offers a pristine beach and a convenient halfway point between the two towns. Both public buses and the train serve Carbis Bay, but visitors should be aware that both services are well uphill from the beach and the elegant Carbis Bay Hotel. The hotel's atrium provides superb snacks... More

A rather pretentious restaurant and despite the impressive location it failed to deliver. £7 for two coffees is not acceptable.
