We had a great time on the Back Country tour with Vivalacosta Off road Adventures. So many cool trails, sites to see, incredible views, educational facts, and some delicious fruit. Will do this again and would recommend it to see parts of the country that you otherwise wouldn’t see.

My husband and I did the back country tour. We learned a lot about Costa Rica and also saw howling monkeys on the tour. Saw a few great lookout points too! Great time and much better than riding 4wheelers. Well worth the money.

Our group of 4 booked the beach tour using the Tomcars with Viva La Costa several weeks in advance (don't wait until the last minute if you want to try the Tomcars). We've done many ATV tours in a variety of different countries. This was by far the best tour we have ever been on! We went on the most intense off road trails I've ever seen and had views that were postcard material! It was a blast from start to finish! We enjoyed two private beaches...Yes, all the beaches are public beaches in CR, but these beaches are secluded and can only be accessed through private property....and Viva La Costa has the only access! In addition, we were catered to all day with fresh pineapple and melon, clean towels brought to us after our swim in the ocean, lots of bottles of water and fresh water showers (on the car!) to wash off after our swim. The cars are impeccably maintained and unbelievably comfortable....yes, I said comfortable! We felt safe and yet challenged with the adventure of some crazy trails with large, deep ruts, boulders and holes that looked big enough to swallow a medium sized dog. The vehicle has individual suspension on each tire so it took those roads like I was driving over a rough street...amazing!. Ed, Jennifer and their crew (Jose and Pedro) are incredibly knowledgeable about the local sites, flora and fauna.....we stopped to check out a large pack of Howler monkeys with many new babies on the private trail, a strangulation tree, and other stops that weren't planned to see a new or different site. Their customer service is beyond outstanding! They all made us feel like we were their best friends! We laughed all day long and have never felt so pampered! If you are going to the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica this should be at the top of your list!

Oh my gosh! This was not what I expected! So interesting and fun! Guides Dilan and Alfredo were very knowledgeable and accommodating! It was an all day tour and I was truly sad when it was over. Wildlife, history, trees, rivers, local fruits, amazing views and everyday Costa Rica life along the way. We did make a detour in Coco Beach to the fish spa - which I hear was a 1st for the guides 😂 I’ve been to Costa Rica many times and I saw places I had never seen before. I would definitely do it again. 🇨🇷

Where can I start! We have been to 10 all inclusive resorts and have done probably 40 excursions. This was by far, hands down, no question, without exception the BEST FAMILY EXCURSION WE HAVE EVER DONE! This is worth every dollar spent. We arrived at 8:30 and the family was greeted by Jennifer Merten. She was informative and told us about what our day would involve. We were introduced to our 2 guides. We rented 2 Tomcars for our family of 4. They do offer a 4 person tomcar but we wanted front seat views. After all the safety information we headed out on the adventure of a lifetime! We went along the coast line stopping at different spots. We stopped, saw and learned about montezuma tree, acacia tree with fire ants, termite nests, tamarindo tree and seeds and The INCREDIBLE PACK OF HOWLER MONKEYS! I am also forgetting 10 other things. Our guides were fun, sociable, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and felt like a part of the family by the time we were done. I cannot say enough good about these guys. We had a cold was cloth to was of the dust at every stop along with waters. We went to 4 beaches and an incredible private beach with fresh watermelon, pineapple and coconut water. The total trip was about 7 hours. The Tomcars made rough roads feel like pavement. A stop for lunch at local restaurant and then back to the office :( If you have ever thought about doing an excursion please do this trip you will remember it for a lifetime.

We were visiting for a family and friend get away. I can't say enough good thing or I would type a book. I just want to say the best ATV trip in the area.... we have done them all. If you want a great day give it a try. The buggy feels extremely safe and stable and the guides are amazing.

We were staying at a resort and wanted to see more of the country, and Ed and Jennifer made that possible. We were not able to plan ahead and we truly appreciated their last minute accommodations. We even had a friend with a foot injury and he was able to do the tour comfortably without pain. We loved that Ed and Jennifer had a US origin, as they were able to understand our tourist point of views while also showing us the country's culture and their experience there. The tomcar was fun and easy to drive for both my husband and I and we were able to see everything including back country, mountain top views, beaches, authentic towns and cuisine, and monkeys. I would recommend this tour to anyone, thank you for an amazing experience!

I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to 17 countries outside the US and been on more than a few excursions/tours. Viva La Costa Off-road adventures is a first class UTV trip over some extremely rugged terrain that traditional ATV’s and side by sides will simply not handle. The owners of this company have worked extremely hard to make this the best of the best. Having a lot of experience with ATV’s I can’t express enough how this tour exceeded my every expectation. Several different trips are available to take, however my group did a 5 hour trip traveling up into the mountains and taking in some breath taking views. We visited beaches at Zapotal, Las Catalinas, Flamingo, and Playa Conchal. The Tom Cars are incredible vehicles that are easy to drive and extremely safe. The owners have outfitted some of the vehicles with fresh water tanks to wash off after you enjoy a swim at some very secluded beaches. All equipment was provided and the guides have large coolers to take any items that you may want to bring along. Both of our guides were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting the Play del Coco or Playa Hermosa area. I honestly would have paid double for the experience.

We took the 3 hour back country tour. We had a great time! The guides were very helpful and we got to see a lot of Costa Rica that visitors don't normally get to see. We would highly recommend this tour!

Yes, correct, depends on which vehicle. If you took 2 two seaters it will run $700 or if you took 1 four seater it will be $600. Children must be at least 3.
