Evening Meal
May 2017 • Couples
Never booked a table but did come in early but any later and it wouldn't be possible to get a table. My partner had 3 Courses and I could only manage the main course. The meal was very nice, and very reasonable.
We will be returning.

Consistently good
Apr 2017 • Family
We've visited a few times and we are always impressed. This time there were eight of us celebrating some family birthdays. Service was quick, discreet & friendly. The food was delicious: from the bread & olives to start to the classic burgers, veggie options & jammy doughnut bread & butter pudding. Beer & wine was very good as well. Highly recommend.

Sunday Lunch
Mar 2017 • Couples
We were given a voucher as a present so it was good to go and try their Sunday Lunch offer.
We opted for two courses for £19.95 and both chose to go for mains and dessert.
I picked roast pork and hubby went for roast beef.
Not too long to wait and lunch was on our table. Lovely slices of meat, Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes, followed by carrots, broccoli, cabbage, sweet potatoes and the best cauliflower cheese I have ever had
All this went down well and then we had to select a homemade dessert. Hubby went for the Bannoffe Sundae and I chose the Hazelnut Meringue. Well, what generous and delicious desserts these were and they soon disappeared.
What a great Sunday lunch and will soon return to sample again.

Dinner
Mar 2017 • Couples
Went with the family for a lovely meal at the bell. Completely revamped and the setting is fantastic! Beautiful decor and a great ambiance.

Food was delicious I had the gammon steak duck egg and chips. The only thing I would say about this meal is that the egg was not a duck egg as advertised but a hens egg and would be surprised if it was a free range egg. Apart from that the meal was delicious - the family had the fish and chips and said it was the nicest fish and chips they have eaten so compliments to the chef.

Staff were friendly and attentive and not overbearing! Wine and beer is typical pub prices .

We enjoyed the food that much we went back the next day for Sunday roast which I would say is the best roast I've had out.

Overall a good experience and would return

Fantastic Sunday Lunch
Mar 2017 • Solo
What a pleasant surprise, our first visit since the new owners had taken over. To start we had the duck egg and parma ham benedict, and the breaded pig's cheeks, followed by roast beef and roast pork mains with all the trimmings. Beautifully presented tasty and substantial. Only regret was that we didn't leave enough room for dessert. Will definately be returning. Keep up the good work 10/10

Last minute decision but so pleased with result. Good menu, fairly priced. Four of us ate a variety of dishes all of which were thoroughly enjoyed. Service good too. We would hIghly recommend it and will certainly return.

Sunday sunshine
Jan 2017 • Couples
We went for lunch last Sunday ,the food was delicious, the place was full so you need to book as we tried the previous Sunday and they were full not surprising as you get a lovely meal with plenty of fresh veg including a separate dish of cauliflower cheese my husbands favorite. We both had a sweet. to follow which was Devine. Definitely recommend this establishment.

What an fantastic experience. 26 people for a 50th birthday party on a Saturday night.
It couldn't have been a better evening. We sorted all the food choices in advance and the food was absolutely delicious. Only one person managed to finish their sticky toffee pudding but only because we'd overdone it on the other courses. They have a great menu and good wine choices, and such good value. Really attentive service with charm and humour. Nothing was too much trouble and we were only gently asked to leave at 11.25pm because their licence doesn't run beyond that!

Delicious home-cooked food and the friendliest staff
Nov 2016 • Friends
We have been to the Bell three times over the past 8 years, each time it was run by new management and each time it was a disappointment. We gave up trying and went elsewhere. Until this evening....
We were greeted by roaring log fires and cosy lighting, fireside armchairs, candles and scrubbed wooden tables. The smiling staff are attentive but not overbearing, and the food was just delicious. The Bell under this new team deserves to do well and we're happy to spread the word about a really decent pub in this pretty village.

Just Round the Corner
Mar 2016
Whilst visiting our elderly friend in Bath we decided to take her out for a meal. So she said I know a place recommended by my friend it's just round the corner. Well some miles later and after a few deviations we arrived at the Bell. A really friendly place staff/owners were great and the food was really nice. a good varied menu, nice choice of beers and the place was airy and and light and well decorated.
