Our Son and his fiance went on the Picnic with Santa on Saturday. They were greeted warmly despite the storm happening around the country. On the train they were presented with a tier of sandwiches, cakes and treats as well as unlimited tea. (Coffee also available) The mixed sandwiches were really fresh and delicious. The carriage was decorated to the Christmas theme and Christmas jumpers added to the festive atmosphere. The staff were friendly despite being really busy. A fabulous time. Thank you to all.

A ride through beautiful countryside with deer and other wildlife evident in a wonderful 1903 diesel electric Autocar, lovingly restored by the NER 1903 Elecric Autocar Trust, the body having been rescued after more than 50 years use as a dwelling and the motors and control gear fully meeting modern standards. Great views, a friendly welcome, questions answered for children and the technically curious alike. Refreshments available at the stations at either end. A great morning out.

Fantastic experience in a relaxed atmosphere, polite and friendly staff. Food and service were excellent. A great choice of drinks available onboard at a very reasonable price. We will be back.

This was our second Halloween express and despite the poor weather the staff gave us a warm welcome. Amazing effort in decorating the carriages and station, plenty of activities on the train, colouring and magic tricks and plenty of treats as well as wizarding lessons and fancy dress competitions on the platform. We all really enjoyed and we will definitely be back for more. Well done and thank you to all involved! Keep up the hard work!

We had a super trip on the railway, all as planned. However, the weather was very poor! Our day was curtailed as we had planned to take the children to Bolton Abbey, just too much rain. Very friendly and enthusiastic staff, everything super clean. Good value.
