About
Come join us at Lucky Tails and meet all of our friends. This will include a talk about Alpacas in the barn shop, take our Alpacas for a walk, then meet the goats, rabbits, chickens. And finally back to the barn for a hot cuppa and biscuit. Your experience will start in our visitors barn with an introduction into Alpacas, fleeces, breeding programmes and what we have set out to achieve at the farm. You will then be taken to meet our fluffy friends and harness up your own Alpaca. We will then go for a very leisurely stroll around the land with Penelope, Brooke, Willow or anyone or our herd. There will be a great opportunity for a photo shoot and those all important "selfies". Once we have the Alpacas back in their paddocks you will be able to meet the other residents starting with; - Our pygmy goats. - Continental giant bunnies in their bespoke village. - 50 plus chickens including Silkys, Polands and "bog standard" layers.

Awful experience and made us all VERY SAD
Sep 2021 • Family
On arrival nowhere to park, road was chocker with other visitors!
They like to pack the visitors in! No social distancing!
Not personal experience for me and my grandchildren!
We turned up to a very disorganised entrance , all filthy and no direction. First impressions where NOT TO STAY!!!!!
Their dogs walking freely amongst very young children , one that was barking aggressively as people were touching them!!! Small SIGN DID SAY DO NOT TOUCH DOGS! But obviously people wouldn’t see that!!!
Advice No1… Remove the dogs as no place for them around children
You have DUTY OF CARE TO YIUR CUSTOMERS AND YIUR OWN DOGS!!!!

The Alpaca experience was pack with so many people! No guidance on arrival, no Safety advice!!! So disorganised, once again complete lack of CARE! This was a personal happy experience and this was not explained and not enjoyable!
The Alpacas were beautiful some had Serious skin problems with balding sores areas. Not impressed!!!
The Meerkat experience after was even worse !!! 10 of us packed into one side of the VERY SMALL CAGE, with these little Meerkats, given some small amount of food that the Meerkat didn’t eat. The enclosure was far too small! In fact extremely cruel…
Sarah (owner) … don’t try and send reply to this with excuses , I know what I’m talking about!!!
All customers on experience were complying and saying how sad it was for them!!! Not impressed!
The farm itself was in need of major repairs! RUBBISH EVERYWHERE , no care is taken here!
Have a clean up… and get your place in order!
To me this whole experience is about GREED And how many people they can fit in !
I paid over £100 for my experience with my family and stayed for 1 hour 20minutes! My grandchildren hated it there !
On leaving only water to wash hands dripped out! No sanitiser!
Hello in Epidemic still !!!
Plus a poor Donkey was in destress as had caught back let’s in tethering lead. No one was doing anything all donkeys were distressed ! We had to point it out the the 3 staff members talking in a huddle !! Disgusting
Would never return and feel they should be reported !!!!!!!!

Best Birthday Experience!
Sep 2021
Lucky Tails Alpaca Farm is brilliant! All staff were so kind and informative, a really lovely small business. I took my boyfriend for his birthday, he had Artemis (I think) and I had Winston who were both lovely, friendly, and cuddly alpacas! Not to mention the lovely animals on the rest of the farm, couldn't recommend more to all age ranges and will definitely be visiting again, thank you Lucky Tails!

Good but TLC required
Sep 2021 • Family
Starting with the positives-
We had a lovely Alpaca and Meerkat experience and overall throughly enjoyed ourselves.
It was definitely a different day out with the kids and the lady Meg was very informative and helpful!
We choose to have calmer Alpacas who were well behaved and very affectionate.
The Meerkat experience was cool!
I would recommend that the groups are smaller and cut into 15 minutes segments as the Meerkats tended to stay around a selective few people.

Moving on to the room for improvement.
As a few other reviews have mentioned the overall state of the site, pens etc was rather unappealing and is in definite need for some TLC.
But not just that the actual health and safety side if the site wasnt great at all, was lots of weeds and stingers (general ground maintenance) broken bits of metal and wood etc. Doesnt make an ideal environment for young children.

There was lots of rubbish everywhere and the bins were over flowing which wasnt great and is an easy fix.

The gift shop needs cleaning. Especially the central stands.

The staff mostly seemed to be young children who didnt really know how to interact with the public. Perhaps more supervision?

The entrance needs work on it, maybe some signs to the reception. Everyone in out party came round the corner quiet confused as to where to go. As its just an unkept yard and then a gate with no dogs sign on it.

Overall we throughly enjoyed ourselves but I probably wouldn’t return based on the general untidiness. Its such a shame really.
I understand its a working farm but some areas just need TLC. Especially some of the pens the animals are kept in.

We visited here after several postponements due to covid but it was well worth the wait.

we all loved taking our chosen alpaca for a walk around the fields and getting hands on with the animals.

My alpaca was called Norman and he was fantastic!

Lovely place

We visited today, I took my 84 year old mom to walk with the alpacas.
The staff were wonderful with her as she has Parkinson’s. I was worried that she might not make the whole walk, they said if it got to much they would cut the walk short and take her back to the beginning. Luckily enough she managed it and loved every minute walking with Neville the alpaca.
Highly recommend this place it is great for ages

Alpaca Trek and Meerkat Experience
Sep 2021 • Family
A very pleasant afternoon enjoyed the Alpaca and Meerkat experience with my two teenage girls and would definitely recommend Lucky Tails Farm. Found all the staff friendly and welcoming and loved the quaint farm setting instead of an over commercialised tourist attraction. Chloe struck the right balance with explaining facts and stories about the meerkat families and it was very relaxed and no pressure to move on to the next activity, have some great memories and photos for the album👏

A Great family time.
Sep 2021 • Family
This was a great family afternoon out, our granddaughters loved it, the walk with the Alpacas was interesting and fun, our granddaughters had fun feeding the meerkats, there's an outside cafe area and a decent cup of tea and coffee are available. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, we will certainly be visiting again in the future.

A bit chaotic and a free for all
Jul 2021 • Family
We went for the alpaca and meerkat experience. The meerkat experience was good although the lady telling us that they would “get in our mouths if they saw our teeth” and “nip us” put my girls off. In the end the meerkats were fine. We then went on an alpaca walk. Of the three one just did as it wanted and wiped its face on you, one was obedient but kicked me (we were told to avoid the back end due to flies ? But I couldn’t help it given we were packed together, and the final one was just belligerent. Went into a couple of fields, fed them in a tiny space and walked back. Overall it was an experience and ok. The issue is that you don’t get a great sense of organisation which is not helpful when you have small children. Good but I’ve done a lot better

Thank you for review. We do give safety talks for obvious reasons - we are working with animals who can be unpredictable- so its important we mention all possible issues. It's better to pre warn that a meerkat can bite rather than have an issue later . I'm sorry that it put your children off but health and safety talks are there for an important reason and thats something we cant and won't change. The same goes for the alpacas, we do warn you not to stand behind them as they can kick. It's very unfortunate that you did stand behind and therefore did get kicked . That's the exact reason we carry out safety talks and ask you to please follow the rules. As for your comment about the behaviour of the alpacas you had I'm not really sure how to comment. I love all my walking boys and they all have very different personalities. Some very well behaved as you say and some a bit more mischievous. I'm sure the one who wiped his face on you didn't mean to be rude 😄😄. I would hope most people just relax follow the rules and enjoy being with these amazing creatures and not take there belligerence to heart! I think as overall you enjoyed your visit I'm pleased.
