We arrived at Panglao dead on our feet after hours of travel. We got to visit the beach the next morning. I wanted to go swimming but got so enamored by sea life. I would love to... read more

Alona Beach has been spoiled by over-development, with too many tacky and overpriced tourist bars and restaurants crowded together along a small narrow strip of badly maintained beach front, which is also frequented by touts for dive and boat trips and hawkers. The beach is not very clean or inviting, and it is not very appealing to swim amongst plastic... More

Unless you are in your twenties, this is an less then average 'to go'. Crowded, restaurants, bar, little beach. Nothing more, nothing less.

WE had the opportunity to visit Alona during our short stay at the Bellevue. Enjoyed our fresh fish dinner right on the beach while listening to local musicians playing all sorts of music.

Go for a stroll, dinner or a sundowner. Its a pleasant place to spend your evening. You can try variety of seafood and there are many little bars where you can have a cocktail or cold beer.

If you see other beaches in the Philippines, this is a very average beach. It is crowded and the water is not that great. Lot of boats parked in the water. It just felt uncomfortable! It was a pain for us to get here as well, because the resorts just wouldn't let us enter from the shorter road claiming that... More

We travelled there with Ferry from Cebu city. We arrived in Tagbilaran and get a jeepney from to Alona beach. Plenty of options here for hotel, resorts, dive centre, shops. We staid at Horizon beach resort. Nice hotel with direct access to the beach and plenty of dive centre in 50 meters range. Best dives are in Balicasag island; marine... More
