While staying at the Amorita we visited the beach every day and night. The sea for bathing was always calm. Evenings here have a nice laidback vibe. Not too crazy and too quiet. My kind of place to while away a day/night. Most restaurants here offer up good fresh fish options along with the other usual offerings. The bars here are more chilled out than those on the spine-road (from beach to main road). Enjoy.

Alona beach is definitely a good place to visit if you want a quiter alternative to the beaches in boracay. There's a lot of bars and similar stuff but not as crowded and over commercialized. Water and marine life are also alive which is a good sign.

They have a huge garbage problem. Imagine yourself swimming with plastics instead of fish. Its very disappointing. Even my 5 year old daughter helped pick up trash because its just too much. However, the sand is still good, and we were lucky to have found a good resort as well.

how long will last this beautiful beach at this pace of pollution garbage and sewer dumping indiscriminately and uncontrolled? does anyone here noticed that their work depend from the condition and management of this tiny strip of sand?

I was very much looking forward to returning to Bohol (and Alona Beach in particular) after my last trip there which was 12 years ago.

Very disappointed to see that it wasn't as I remembered it. The beach was dirty and uninviting (both organic and non-organic materials littering the beach). In comparison, Doljo beach was clean, well-maintained and just very pleasant to look at and be in (even those not in front of high-end resorts).

I hope the resorts lining up the beach all work together to maintain the cleanliness of the beach, and the local government also takes an active role in taking care of it.

I stayed in the Hennan Resort which is on the beach. The water is gorgeous and the sunsets are beautiful, but you can't walk along the beach let alone lie down without being hassled by tour, massage and trinket vendors. Worth a walk through and maybe a quick swim but I wouldn't plan to relax here.

If you value exclusivity I would not recommend staying at any hotel on Alona Beach as it is full of outsiders and peddlers. The shore per hotel is probably only 10-20 meters.

I would go for the restaurants though as they are plenty to choose from.

I allways spend a couple of days here even Alona beach now remids more like Bohols Boracay- Good atmosphere, you can eat close to the water (again), a lot of entertainments to choose from, lots of different hotel offerings.
