Super touristy

After spending two weeks exploring the beauty of the Philippines, Alona beach was a bit of a cold shower. Very crowded and touristy.

Its a lovely place and even though it rained a few days it was still an amazing vacation. beach cleaners everymorning lots of activities to do the diving was great and trips down the beach find you an array of different food.. and live music in the bars

There is white sand, this is true. But otherwise it is a small horribly touristy and tacky beach full of dive boats. If you are looking for non-stop bars and restaurants then maybe it is for you. If you want pristine, uncrowded, beautiful beaches this is most definitely not the place for you.

Alona beach is one of my favorite spots in the Philippines. I am a SCUBA diver and for me Alona has everything I am looking for on my holiday. I dive all day with Genesis Divers on some of the best dive sites in the Philippines. Get back to shore around 2pm enjoy the beach for a few hours before... More

It's a beautiful beach with dozens of guide boats to take your diving or snorkeling. Head out to turtle point. We saw at least a dozen sea turtles.

We went down there at about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon promised to be swamped with fresh seafood restaurants and entertainment. Nothing of the type, no seafood in site, no entertainment just a divers paradise with all dive company's and their boats, street food and fast food outlets and Couple of bars open for drinking. We lasted 30mins and got... More

We visited Alona Beach in the evening for a stroll. It is nice, but pretty slim stretch of sand. Not ideal for an idyllic stroll unfortunately. There are several restaurants, massage and diving places on the beach side.

The beach is nice and white sandy but too many private resorts have taken over the bit of area as their private land and thus reducing the width of this white sandy beach. and ofcourse all the boats as am suppose their fishing business is no more so have now been converted for island tours for tourists... otherwise its a... Crowded place and very commercial so many sellers who want are approaching you all the time for boat trips, island tours, massage etc etc. Still a nice place to walk and many restaurants to choose from.

We were so disappointed to see what has happened to this place , the whole island has been taken over by extremely expensive private resorts , such a shame !! Also what sea is left to swim on Alona beach is stacked up boat to boat offering boring excursions destroying all the reefs . Don't waste your money here ,... More
