Alona beach was a very beautiful beach, not far from BE Grand resort Bohol. Went over just for a few hours . Was a busy beach, with many families there, many places to eat in if you wanted to.

Alona Beach is great if you are looking for a lot of restaurants and nightlife. The beach is pretty crowded and unfortunately a bit too narrow for sunbathing when the sun goes down in the afternoon. Very clean considering the above mentioned things.

This was the beach that was closest to our hotel, so we visited several times. The sand is very white and clean. It can get a little crowded.

This was truly a awful place to be. Soooo over crowded and everyone was trying to get you to buy or book something with them. I felt so stressed just by walking on the beach. So sad because it is truly a beautiful beach that...More

3 day layover before heading back. Too touristy for me. Full of tourists, business catering to tourists and people pulling out lamibated sheets trying to sell tours left and right. Even the room cleaning service and the repair guy try to sell tours on the...More

In late December 2018, I made my way for the second time to Alona Beach (first time was summer 2016). Things have deteriorated. Back in 2016, the water in front of Henann resort was fairly clear and fairly emerald-colored, and there was a healthy number...More

Comparable to the hustle and bustle of Boracay pre-rehab, but with much less people. Food and services like massages are what you would expect from a touristy place such as this.

The beach itself was small and lined with restaurants. It was too touristy and commercialized for our taste. It was lined with boats which I imagine were for the island hopping tours (about 400 pesos per person per activity).

It may be the iconic beach of Panglao Island, but it has so many similar hallmarks of Boracay, leading up to its closure for 6 months! The over development has had a detrimental affect on the ocean and beach. We understand that it has recently...More

Stay clear of this place. The beach itself is in terrible condition. Bottles, glass, plastic, cigarette butts, concrete blocks and tiles, building iron, old tyres etc. The shore line has been eroded and in terrible condition. Dogs and dog excrement is common place. The water is...More

I have a plan I wanted to know if it's a good one and what can I plan better. so: Landing in Manila and staying in the an airport hotel for one night. Manila --> Cebu --> Panglao - stay there around Alona beach for 2-3 nights. Panglao --> Siquijor - stay there for 2-3 nights. Siquijor --> Cebu --> Palawan --> El-Nido - stay there for 5 nights El-Nido --> Port...More

if your thinking relaxed holiday then i would drop some of those destinations and spend more time in just 3 of them. Maybe just make it boracay, panglao and elnido/port barton. Travelling anywhere in the philippines isnt easy and the destinations u have mentioned all require travel by plane and then ferry, you will lose at least 3 days in travel trying to get to all those destinations, hardly relaxing. Nice nightlife and luxury resorts is definetly boracay and to a lesser extent pangloa....More

Some hotels like Paragayo and Blue Elephant do have free internet access (Wi-Fi) at the lobby. I have stayed in Paragayo and the connection is quite reliable.

Budget beachfront at Alona Beach -》 Aquatica Resort , Domos Native Guesthouse(far end of Alona Beach & very near but not exactly beachfront) Budget beachfront at Bolod Beach -》 Yuken Mari Resort , Panglao Grande Resort Danao Beach : Villa Juana San Isidro Beach : Steffi's Place Doljo Beach : Muro Ami Resort.. Recommendation? I have suggested the cheapest beachfront places at each beach.. The cheaper ones are seldom the good ones.. Perhaps do a filter of the...More
