Poti is dead city. There isn't a lot of tourists and ther is not "center" of the city to sit down. There is only few restaurant and no cafes. Beaches are full of rubbish, there is no place to lie down (except between the trash and cows). We booked accomodation for 4 nights but we stayed only 2 becausd there is nothning to do. Lighthouse was under the reconstruction so we couldn't go inside.

We expected that such an attraction is open without prior booking and we were wrong so we couldn't visit it.

It’s always good to call ahead. We did so as we wanted to have a quick look at the Poti lighthouse, the caretaker was friendly and met us to let us in, there was no common language though. There is some local memorabilia around, a steep winding climb to the top and rewarding views from the top. If you can get there and get in it is quite nice and the grounds are immaculate.
