This is one of the stops on 5he jump on / jump off bus tour. We didn’t go in just stopped 10 mins for a few photos. Area around it looked nice but I doubt I could spend 1 hr here till the next bus.

I visited Acicastello with a group of work colleagues. The views are truly amazing. The Castello Normanno is a must if you visit this location. It is very well kept and the views from the top are breathtaking. There is a very nice cactus garden. The entrance fee is only 3 Euro.

We visited the Norman Castle on a Sunday, at about 10. Castle is situated in a quaint quiet village, which contrasts the chaotic Catania. Castle is very well maintained and situated in a picturesque location. Not pricey at all...Eur3 per person, and although it could have information posts in the various areas of the castle, the information booklet is free of charge. Exploring Aci Castello, the castle and the village should take no more than 4hrs (if you decide not to stop for lunch), but it can easily be linked to Aci Trezza which is just 10 mins walk away for create a day trip

The ruins of the castle is in a spectacular part of the coastline and it is clear to see why the Norman’s would have built this fortress here. Although small, quite a lot has been preserved and will take a good 30-45 minuted to take it all in.
There is a small cactus garden for some strange reason, but interesting nevertheless. Inside are a couple of rooms, one has a few art works with no explanation. The other rooms are an attempt at a museum, but it’s poorly laid out and has no explanation: in fact, some of the exhibits are irrelevant as can be seen by examples of geological minerals from other parts of the world. It is due to this collection of what could be random items that makes the museum irrelevant.
The entry fee for two adults and two young children was €6.00, and if this goes towards the preservation of the castle, it’s certainly worth it. Would be nice for the tourist board (😂) to do something about the litter and graffiti.

A real Norman castle in Sicily. What a surprise and treat to explore, even in the rain. The main challenge in Aci Castello is the parking - we pulled in to a car park but were told that it was closing at 14.00!!!

Beautiful area with this Norman castle perched on a rock above the sea with brilliant views over the sea and town. Not a lot to see but worth a call for the views and cafes in the square at the base selling some great sicilian food and icecream

This castle is rather unique and offers beautiful views, the water is clear blue and the guy taking care of the entrance, tickets etc is an incredibly nice person and this added to our visit there a lot more.

A cool castle right on the sea, good to walk around and explore for an hour or so. Great views of the sea, and a little mini museum of some artifacts.

A very unusually shaped castle. The construction follows the cliff line perfectly. There is a small museum inside. It has beautiful views of the shoreline as well as Isloa de Cyclops. Very inexpensive to see. Watch the steps when it rains, better yet, watch the steps, they are steep.

Given how lukewarm some of the reviews were, I hesitated, but this truly was one of the highlights of my trip to Catania. I took the 534 bus from Piazza Borsellino, which was itself quite the experience in Sicilian culture. There is a fee to get into the castle, but it says so right on the gate, so I don't know how some of the other reviewers missed it. The view is spectacular, the building itself is impressive, and there is a lovely little cactus garden, plus a tiny but really cool geological/natural history museum. This was without a doubt one of the best experiences I had, a welcome change from the hustle of the city.
