Lovely vineyard not far from the beautiful town of San Gigamano.
You can visit the vineyard and sample the wines and olive oil. The staff their are very friendly and helpful. You can buy on site or they will ship home.
My favourite red is the Cingalino, which is a merlot/cab franc. It is fruity and not too dry like some Italian wines and it just happens to be their cheapest (£6.50 a bottle)
They sometimes do special offers, where you do not have to pay for shipping costs home.

We had a lovely visit. Megan showed us around. She was very patient and charming, answering all our questions. The wines are well balanced and much more to our palate. We are looking forward to our case arriving in UK.

Not like the most wine tastings in the region. This is a bigger company which even delivers to the coop supermarket. They have a nice range of wines which all can be tasted. The prices variate beween 5 and 20€.

Reserve your visit ahead if you'd like a tour of the small facility. Elena guided us through the history, wines and oils. She is warm and answered all of our questions.

Make this a stop on your tasting tour of the area!

The wines are amazing and offer a few unexpected varietals.

The olive oil is so good, we bought a dozen bottles and shipped them home as gifts!

Villa Pillo is located in Gambassi Terme which is a beautiful area with some amazing views and landscapes. The most relaxing thing are all the vineyards that surround You while You are here. I have decided to buy a bottle of Villa Pillo and have it with some steak. Great combination! Well worth the visit, one of the nicest places run by really nice people:)) enjoy!

We booked the cellar tour with all inclusive wine tasting and food. The tour was quite short but as the location is small anyway, it was okay. To see the barrels in the cellar was the one and only highlight of the 10 minutes tour.

For the tasting the team of villa pillo prepared quite a nice food platter with lots of local and typical Tuscan dishes (ham, salami, cheese, dips, sauces, bread, etc.). The food was great and the amount also very nice.

The tasting of the wines was good and we got at least a bit Information to each wine. In total we tasted 7 different wines and the vin santo. 1 white, 1 rose and 5 different reds.
The taste of the wines was good and for the dessert wine we got some Cantuccini as well.

All in all was a great package. So why only this poor review. The price list of the wine bottles was already a quite heavy moment. Going from 7€ for the one affordable one over to 9€ for the „bestseller“ borgoforte and continues with 16€ für Cypresses and 20€ for all others.

Generally okay, but during next days we found all wines for a CHEAPER price in different coop supermarkets!!! WHY did we pay more directly at the vineyard?? That is the moment when we felt betrayed. Unfortunately we didn’t have our phones with us to take pictures. But don’t buy any wine at the location directly. Go and look in the supermarkets for a better price.

We spent an enjoyable couple of hours in the company of the delightful Megan who showed us around and explained the different wines produced and how and poured samples to link taste to talk. Some very good wines and olive oil.. we went because we sampled one of their wines in a local restaurant and enjoyed it very much. A worthwhile experience especially if you like wine

We spent an enjoyable hour here tasting a really good range of wine that seemed pretty well priced too. May be 8-9 bottles - sauvignon blanc, Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah, grappa, vin santo. The host (I think Megan) was really friendly and informative. We didn't book but it seems when we arrived we were fortunate as they can get very busy (up to 40 people!) - in other tastings we've been to it seemed that the numbers were less - so while it was a nice small group of us this time, it could have been much less fun. Only recommendation would be if there could be some bar stools to sit on while tasting - it is set up for people to stay standing (I assume to ensure it doesn't go on too long) ? whereas others we've been to are around a seated table. Overall we enjoyed the experience and the wine and would recommend

You are in a winery with a lot of production and wines of all types, from whites of the area, to red wines, sweet wine and staples. The visit is well worth it, you can visit the wineries that maintain the old structure. Highly recommend.

Imagine our surprise and joy at finding a Canadian tasting room attendant who spoke fluent Italian! Megan was lovely, friendly, kind, and very knowledgeable. She made us feel more than welcome, and, not to be cliche', but she made us feel like friends. And if that wasn't enough to have made our day, the wine was really good. Having high standards having grown up in wine country, and low expectations given the ridiculous amount of places to taste wine in Tuscany... I wasn't overly optimistic... wow, was I wrong. Not only did Megan kill it as a proud host, but the wines were really great. Not every wine "spoke to me"...but many really knocked my socks off... My personal highlights were the '14 Borgoforte (no. 25 in the Wine Spectator's top 100 wines of 2016), the 100% Cab Franc (delicious), the Syrah, and the Vin Santo... fantastic day of winetasting...THANKS!
