We made an outstanding experience in the winery of Emmanuela Tamburini. All her wines are of great quality and the price performance was a positive surprise. In fact, for us, these were the best wines we tasted in Chianti. The Chianti Reserva "Italo" is splendid. We loved this intensive, powerful, but also smooth and elegant wine with a real good elaborated harmony from tannins and red berries and cherries. Emmanuela also let us taste her flagship, Somnio, a brunello di Montalcino. Yes she also has a wineyard in this noble winemaker area. A wine for celebrating special moments.
We were shown the cellar and got detailed informations about the wine making. The hundred years old barrels with Vin Santo were very impressive. After the visit we were received in the tasting room of the main house, an ancient monastery on the pilgrims way to Rome. The different wines were accompanied by various delicious local food, freshly prepared and served in a warm and authentic mood. You feel at evety moment that you are welcome. Note also the fantastic olive oil.

We absolutely recommend a visit in Emmanuela Tamburinis wineyard.

Agricola Tamburini is a superb winery located in a tiny village/hamlet of Il Castelluccio not too far from Gambassi Terme and Certaldo.

We passed a fabulous few hours in the company of Emanuela and her mother. I highly recommend a visit to Tamburini as for the small price of 15 euros per person (at the time of our visit in April 2009) we were treated to a wealth of knowledge from Emanuela, generous tastings and enough homemade food to fill our tummies for hours! In addition you can wander about outside and enjoy the marvellous views.

We phoned Emanuela to make a reservation Get very clear directions from Emanuela as its not the easiest place to find (we were obstructed by roadworks which may have made it more difficult for us to locate). I doubt it would be easy to reac by public transport.

The tour began with information about the family and their farming history, the grapes and a short tour of the processing area and then we went into the ground floor of their home for tastings.

Although the area is solely (I think) used for tasting .. its like walking into someone's massive comfortable living room ... and the smell of freshly baked bread was wafting from the nearby kitchen. We sat around an enormous table and the tasting began. There are only three or four wines which they currently produce but it is definitely sufficent and very good quality, a grappa and some superb olive oil. Emanuela is great host and she will happily oblige with very generous tastings.

Emanuela's mother (who doesn't speak English, is an absolutely lovely lady and the langauge barrier was not an issue at all ) prepared and served the food which was as good as any I have eaten in good Italian restaurants. Freshly baked local style bread ... to dip in the luscious olive oil; crostini with tuscan ragu; a selection of their salumi including pancetta, speck and salami. Servings were more than generous so much so that we didn't want to eat dinner that evening! We finished with homemade gelato with cream served with a great Vin Santo.

Then Emanuela took us for a tour of the cellars... wow!

We visited Agricola Tamburini with our nine year old son and whilst I wouldn't normally take a child to a winery, he was welcomed and praised for his good behaviour. He happily wandered around their enclosed gardens and enjoyed the food with us at the tasting.

We were presented with a wine glass each and the ladies given freshly picked flowers upon leaving which was a lovely touch.

If you want to experience some great Italian hospitality ... because really this is what you get. It is a business but you feel like you are visiting friends. We'll definitely go back again.

Grazie mille Emanuela!

The family that hosted along with several lovely wines made for an amazing few hours. Facility tour was simple but thoughtful. The tasting experience equally so but the personal connection the hosts provide for their guests showcases the fact this is a simple, family-owned farm that is not just a business but an important part of their life..and we were so lucky to have them share that with us. A few bottles of wine, olive oil and balsamic in our travel bag and we made our way out the door. A treasure in Gambassi Terme indeed. Wine snobs may not appreciate the simplicity on offer...

Many of the farms in Tuscany have vineyards and most of those produce wine for their own consumption. And so it was with Agricola Tamburini; until recently. Emanuella Tamburini used the foundation of three generations of home production to build a successful commercial venture. In addition to their range of wines, the vineyard also produces grappa, and their own brand of olive oil.
We were welcomed by Alida, a daughter of one of the employees, whose knowledge belies her age.
After taking us on a tour of the cellar, Alida led us to our table, where we sat down to plates of Pappa al Pomodoro (Tuscan bread and tomato soup). She brought us a selection of wines to taste. We loved all of them, but our favourite was definitely the Il Moraccio, a full-bodied blend of Sangiovese and Merlot varietals.

We really enjoyed this; a mixed group of 5 aged between 16 and 75.

The tour was very informative and the wine tasting and accompanying food just perfect. We bought a few bottles of wine and some grappa, perfect!

I have already reviewed Agricola Tamburini last year and as promised we returned with our wedding party to enjoy a wine tour with wine tasting and food.
Our guests were already curious having received the welcome wine (one red, one white) so expectations were high.
No one was disappointed! We received comments from all our friends about how passionate Emmanuela is about the wine, the high quality (and quantity!) of the food that goes along with the tasting and last but not least the quality of the wine and the vin santo. The vin santo is pure heaven and we enjoyed it even more as Emanuela's mother had prepared a lovely cake for our party! It felt like it was our wedding day already!

If you are thinking of getting married and need help picking favours: Emanuela is the answer! We had ordered little canisters of olive oil for our guests and they must have spend hours packaging it all up and making it look pretty with ribbons and olive twigs. It looked amazing and again we got lots of comments about it from our guests.
Some of our party went again the next day to get more wine....a testament to the high quality of the wine.
Emanuela, I hope you read this. You are an amazing woman and you and your family have helped us create a lasting memory with our wedding guests and we are deeply grateful for all the effort you have made.
Thanks so much to the whole Tamburini family

Staying at an agriturismo location , La Vecchia Sassa in Iano near Montaione in Tuscany south west of Florence and was recommended to take the wine tour at Tamburini winery. Absolutely wonderfully. Met by Emanuela Tamburini and given extensive tour which included a very generous tasting of Tuscan meats, cheeses and home made bread and tomato soup made by her mother who whisked around silently in the back ground getting this ready. The wines (5) are all excellent plus a dessert wine and their own Grappa. A must do if you are touring near Gambasse.

Pietralta is a small winery in the heart of country of Tuscany.
We was driving from San Giminiano to Gambassi terme one evening around 8pm, and we decided we want some wine, but we realize was a little bit late for a shop...so we´ll see a sign in the wood ¨wine¨and we decide to entered, after 10 minutes of a rough road
we find this nice small winery.
We was recived by 3 Maremmano´s dog and from the owner, who was very friendly and offer us a good glass of wine in order to taste his product, so we decide to buy 6 bottle of a good red Chianti.
was a nice experience, and if you arrive in the morning you can spend the day learning about wine and his production.

We completed the wine tour with 7 wines (plus a bonus one!) and had a fantastic time. The wines were all amazing and there were different foods to sample as well to showcase the olive oil they produce too! There were only 10 of us on the tour so it felt really friendly too. The staff were amazing even though we got lost on the way to the location missing the start of the tour and let us go on another after the tasting. The tour was well detailed. We also got to meet “the boss” and Emanuela the owner too. Would 100% recommend and it’s such great value for money too. Me and my boyfriend are looking forward to drinking our wines we purchased!
