Bring something warm to wear
Aug 2020
We did the tour that started at the Aggtelek Red Lake Visitor Center, which was a 2-hour tour. The cave is beautiful, although the tour is only offered in Hungarian.

Tip: Bring a sweater or jacket. It’s very cold down there and after 2 hours it’s uncomfortably cold.

Covid-Travels: The group we were with was not good about social distancing and properly wearing their masks. Nobody else seemed concerned… We were able to stay far back from the group. Since we don’t speak Hungarian, we didn’t mind not being able to hear the presentation.

Beautiful
Jul 2020
The entry fees of the short (1 hour and 1km long) trip: 2600 HUF/adult, 2000 HUF for students, 6 years or under 300 HUF. Tours start at 11h, 13h, 15h, 17h but if there are enough (10) visitors then every hour from9 to 17.
Next to the entry there is a restaurant and free toilets.
There are free parking places 100m far from the entry and 3 buffet.
The guide is in the cave speak only hungarian, the cave is excellent and absolutely worth the price. Recommend!

The cave is incredible, but the tours are only in Hungarian...

To arrive by car was not very much indicated, but with the GPS we arrived OK. The most part of the visitors are local, and it is not prepared for foreign tourism.
The cave is incredible, and the show inside is very beautiful. I am very happy to have seen it.

INCREDIBLE!

What a huge cave; a must see in my opinion! and It's approx. 3 hours from Budapest by car. However if you are in the eastern part of Hungaty then it's a "must see" outing!

English tour-short tour of Baradla cave
Aug 2019
I highly recommend the English tour with István. He is very knowledgeable, kind, and hospitable. The cave is geologically beautiful and historically significant. The tour also include music and light show in a concert hall in the cave. You can use this email to contact the English guide-istvan.pecze2@gmail.com. The English tour is a separate fee to the cave admission. 10 Euro for English tour for family of four. I think it was 6400 huf for family cave admission.

The Baradla Domica cave system in Hungary is wonderful. Sound in the "concert cave" is absolutely amazing.

It was a long trip :)
Feb 2019 • Friends
Aggtelek caves are one of the largest cave system in europe. Its a really beautiful and big cave system but if you have phobia from closed and dark places I dont recommend you to take the trip since it takes quite a long time :) Dont forget to visit the Aggtelek national park and museum after the trip.
