We drove across this bridge to get to the vineyard where we were going tasting. The views were superb.

We crossed this bridge on our river tour and it was pretty and old fashioned, plus a practical way to progress.

Bridge originally built as railway was never used for that purpose as there were o customers. Now gateway to vinyards. Nice view of Duro river below.

The iron bridge was completed in 1872. It served road traffic until 1949. Then it was closed for many years. After a thorough renovation, it was reopened in 2012, but only for pedestrian traffic. And that's a good thing, many walkers can now feel safe and at ease here, and the town has an additional attraction. The bridge is 8 m wide and 318 m long, so a walk in two pages does not take much time. It's worth taking a walk for the nice views of the Douro River and the other two bridges.
