We started from a small isolated bay on the beach of Ravdouha. On the day we had arranged the excursion there were very strong winds and we were afraid that the excursion would not take place. Captain Yioryis reassured us. The two places he has chosen for the excursion are almost always protected from the winds! We sailed along the coast and admired the wild beauty of the landscape.After the sea route, we ended up at a private beach with crystal clear waters. We could see the waves in the distance, but we were swimming in waters reminiscent of the calmness of a swimming pool. Meanwhile, Captain Yioryis made a wonderful Cretan salad with about 15 ingredients that had all the colors. He grilled meat which was very juicy and tasty from local suppliers. Even the soft drinks he offered us were all from Cretan producers.Then he fried the most delicious potatoes I have ever tasted in my life in olive oil of his own production. His fruit was also amazing, we ate so much that we needed some rest. Despite the wild landscape, Captain Yioryis built a wooden deck with wonderful umbrellas, sunbeds and even offered us his own beach towels. The excursion included hiking to a nearby Byzantine monastery of the 10th century with wonderful frescoes, some of which unfortunately show the brutality of the pirates who attacked the monastery. A large range rover with a capacity of up to 11 people (including the driver) was waiting for us, which took us to another Byzantine monastery. Captain Yioryis was discreetly by our side and was interested in everything we might want. He made sure every half hour to offer us each a bottle of cold water. We were impressed that he had everything at very nice temperatures without electricity !!! Even before our return in the late afternoon everything was cool. When the excursion ended and we disembarked at the port, Captain Yioryis asked us to follow him to the village above the beach and we enjoyed the most beautiful sunset. The sun set right in front of us with amazing colors. Captain Yioryis is a rare person, he has put his stamp on everything because he loves what he does. His purpose is to make the experience unforgettable for every traveler. It is no coincidence that he is at the top in this category on Trip Advisor!

I don't know what most people's expectations with this excursion are but Captain Yioryis sure exceeded mine. The trip starts of early with a fun boat ride next to some rocky shores with great waters. You can see caves and everything. After all the scenery we arrived at a private beach with crystal clear waters which made us all the more excited for the day. Captain Yioryis also has a deck built there filled with umbrellas and sunbeds. There are also showers so you can clean yourself up from the salt water. While we were swimming Captain Yioryis was preparing the food which I have to say was amazing. His salad is to die for and he also made traditional souvlaki and chicken wings on the grill all with Cretan ingredients from local markets. Finally he made us these amazing french fries and I have to admit they might just be the best ones I've had in my life. Captain Yioryis always made sure we had everything we wanted in order to be completely comfortable. After the food we had to rest a bit so we lied down on the sunbeds. Later on in the day we took a trip to two Byzantine monasteries that were built almost a thousand years ago. The view from the top of the mountains did not go unnoticed as it was breathtaking. We left around 19:00 and took the boat ride back were we came from. Before we left completely Captain Yioryis took us up to a village on the mountain to see the sunset which filled the sky with beautiful colours. This is definitely the best full day trip one can have and Captain Yioryis is without a doubt the best at what he does. If there was a replacement for Captain Jack Sparrow he would be it!

My wife and I booked Dream Destinations for our honeymoon after our friends raved about the experience from their honeymoon in 2017. We met Captain Yioryis on Ravdoucha Beach where he had an inflatable paddle boat to take us out to the main motor boat. He loaded up with coolers of food, alcohol, and water and then takes you along the beautiful Cretan coastline until you reach the bay with calm water where he set up camp that HE HIMSELF BUILT. They have (2) bays where they set up camp and we went to the newer one (we were the 2nd people he'd ever taken there).
Captain Yioryis is a boat captain, tour guide, historian, carpenter, chef, and so much more. We got to the sun platform and he's explaining to us how he built it, showed us the makeshift kitchen he built and how he gets running water to clean food and dishes. He then took us on a tour of some local monasteries (unexpectedly) which was an excursion by itself!
Once we returned to the main camp, Captain Yioryis and Historian Yioryis turned into Greek Chef Yioryis. He cooked us an excessive amount of food (most of which was absolutely delicious). They were excellent about accommodating dietary restrictions. We have never been so stuffed in our lives! He had beer and wine for us, some Raki at the end, anything you could think of he had ready. At the end, we had a 30-45 minute sunset cruise back to Ravdoucha. It was a better sunset than in Oia, Santorini.
Make sure you bring a book or some sort of entertainment just in case - the water was unusually rough when we were there so we couldn't paddle boat or kayak. We were so full that we mostly napped, but a book would have been nice.
Overall, it was a totally private and relaxing day on our honeymoon. It's an experience we'll never forget and would highly recommend to anyone. Captain Yioryis is so passionate. You can tell this excursion means the world to him and it's his life's work. He truly is an amazing man and a hidden Creten icon. His passion, more than anything, makes this experience so meaningful.

I had read the previous reviews on trip adviser so had high expectations for this trip but it was even better than I imagined. From start to finish it was perfectly planned and perfectly relaxing. The setting is stunning with great views across the bay, beautiful coastline and crystal clear water. Relaxing on Yiorgis's sun loungers was sheer bliss and I've never seen my 2 kids go so long without moving. There is plenty to do if you want to be active including kayaking and walking up to the monastery where the views are great. Throughout the day whatever you choose to do you will be accompanied by nothing more than the sound of waves and breeze with only birds and goats for company. The solitude is unparalleled anywhere else on the northern coast. Regarding the food... well where to start. Simply the best chips, salad and BBQ you can imagine. More than anything the day is brought to life by the gentle, funny and highly enthusiastic Yiorgis who couldn't have been a more gracious host. We had a fantastic day so thank you Dream Destinations and see you again soon.

Yioryis is an amazing host! Anyone can recognize his love and passion about entertaining people through his charismatic personality. The place and the traditional food were amazing. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience to friends and families who want to relax in a stunning private beach, while enjoying the traditional Creten lifestyle.

What a day and what a trip accompanied by the greatest captain to ever sail the seas, Captain Yiorgis! If you are looking for a strong taste of the wild, yet captivating beauty, of Crete, far away from the over-populated beaches and also taste numerous greek uniqye dishes, then look no further. The journey starts in a secluded beach with gorgeous crystal clear waters. The beach is also naturally protected by the strong regional winds, so waves ain't an issue. Yiorgis also has sups and snorcelling masks for those who seek out a little bit of adventure and exploration. After a few hours of us losing ourselves in the beauty of the scenery, we sat down with Captain "Cook" Yiorgis and ate a variety of dishes. From steaks, to the traditional souvlaki, to the incredibly well made fried potatos, to the signature dish the "Dream Destination Salad", a dish so good we couldn't help but to save some for our return home. And all that were accompanied by beautiful regional wines and also raki! And for desert, Yiorgis had prepared top quality watermelons and melons. I've never had a feast like that in my entire life! After a while we took a great nap listening to the sound of the sea, it was magical. After that we took a small hike to a nearby abandoned 10 century old, monastery. The brutal history of it is still depicted on it's walls and paints of the saints. After that we drove with a land rover to an another monastery and after we gazed upon the charm of the lonely and simple yet hard life of the monks that follows them since the Byzantine empire, we drove back to the beach to swim for one last time. I feel grateful for the opportunity to live and adventure like that. Yiorgis undying free and unique spirit is what makes him and this experience a one of a kind. His hard work cannot be left out. Thank you for everything !

Our experience with captain Yiorgis was unbelievable!
We went to a private place by boat and he explained us how he transformed the wild place into a magical destination. (Of course the nature remains pure and peaceful!)
We explored the marine life with masks too!
Captain Yiorgis was very nice with us and saw us what Cretan hospitality means!
The did his best to please us..
As regards the food, the table was plenty of plates with Captain's cook.
I suggest you to try them all that delicious dishes.
I recommend day trips with captain Yiorgis 100%
We send Crete our love for what we experienced there!

This was one of the best summer days I’ve had! Captain Yiorgis greeted us with a huge smile and made our day very special from beginning to end! Crystal clear waters, exclusive private beach and an amazing deck, all added to the magic of the day! Captain Yiorgis thought of everything to the last detail, from bringing fresh produce and cold drinks, to cooking and preparing salads and barbecues. He is the best host! The day finished with a visit to a nearby monastery which made everything all the more special for us. A day to remember, with a host to remember! We will be coming back again and again. This truly is a dream destination!

This was probably the best day in Crete, Captain Yiorgis took us on a short hike where we picked and tasted walnuts and figs. The secluded beach area that Yiorgis is developing is a small piece of heaven, so spartan but yet everything you can wish for....and then the best Cretan salad we've ever tasted - made from scratch on site...

It was an amazing experience. He took us to the best places in the area but also the facilities he has built are unique. (a lot of work) Captain George loves what he does so much that you literally can't get any better. I highly recommend it and will definitely go again. Bravo George
