About
One of the best beaches in Chania prefecture, quite untouched and unexplored. Many travelers use the area around the beach as a free camping spot. It is actually a cedar forest next to the beach. It is also a favorite beach for naturists. The road up to Elafonisi is quite good and then you need to take a non asphalt road for about 10 minutes. Then you also need to take a walk path for another 15-20 minutes. No matter the time you will need to go there, it's sure that you will enjoy that unique beach.

Depending where you are travelling from the buses which take you into kissamos beach run every 2 hours. It’s a small town/village with a very limited amount of shops and restaurants. The beach itself is small and sandy with showers available if you want somewhere to chill out out that is not that busy this imo is the beach to go for

In July 2014, we struggled looking for this "nudist beach".
Thanks to this conversation, we decided to ask the locals to explain us where to go to reach this beach. We finally found someone who explained us this (and it was clear enough):
When you go down to Elafonissos by car, after having passed many green-houses, you will get a sign on your left, to Sklavopoulos, take this direction. The road will then become a track; at the first intersection like a T, go left; a the second T intersection, go right, and then drive during around 1 or 2 kilometers, following the yellow arrows, until you reach a parking place.
We were surprised to see all people with clothes; so at the end of the beach, we removed out clothes; a few hours later, another couple joined us naked as well.

This beach is close to elafonisi but it is much quieter and just as beautiful. It is difficult to find but if you turn off left on the dirt road signposted for paleochora before you reach elafonisi and look out for little yellow signposts you will eventually (after going through a lot of greenhouses!) reach a car park by a little stone hut. There is a path down to the beach from there. We went on a beautiful day in May and there were a total of ten people that I could see on the whole beach. The water is warm and calm and there are plenty of rocks to shelter behind if it is a bit breezy. Absolutely stunning! There are no sunbeds or cantinas so bring whatever you need and take your rubbish away with you - it is also a nature reserve due to the juniper trees that grow along the shoreline.

You need to drive about an hour from Chania main city towards to famous and tourist Elafonisi. Just before arrive there you need to turn left, I think you should ask. There are no sign anything. After you park your car in the middle of nowhere you need to walk about 15 minutes down the path to the beach. This is a unique place known mostly by locals and naturists. The beach is away from all and offer nice sand and crystal blue water. To me one of the best beaches all around Crete. On the back there is a cedar forest (that's the Greek name - Kedrodasos) for those who want to stay for one or even more nights at the beach. The shadows are all around the place but please respect the nature and the beach. Do not throw away your garbage and clean your spot before you leave, let's keep the place untouched.

PS.: Don't forget to get food, water and anything else you may need, if you want to stay in front of the beach a kind of beach umbrella should do the trick.

Savage beach, unbelievable turqoise water and shade under juniper trees, if you love being almost on your own with nature, this is your heaven. 10 mins by car from Elafonissi, and then 10 mins walk down to beach. As it's totally pristine, you need to bring water and sandwiches with you. We found one skinny extremely hungry feeding cat mom with kittens, we went back second day and bought cat food from Supermarket about 5km before reaching the place, if you have any leftovers/ or drinking water left when leaving beach, please feel free to leave them under the trees, the little ones will be happy.

You should not drive here. Prices are ok for a water taxi ride. We heard horror stories of car park as hotbed of burglaries. Beach is a steep absail down from car park.

We've heard stories that it's a hidden heaven of Crete, but you don't know how much of it is true until you get there. It is SO BEAUTIFUL! Those colours, that sand, that clean water... the trees, the sun and the birds... silence and the sound of waves, crystalline water like nowhere else you'll find on Crete, and so much more than that is Kedrodassos!
We've went there after overcrowded Elafonissi and we felt sorry that we didn't make Kedrodassos one day event. You should come here in the morning and spend the whole day in here! Elafonissi should be a hop-off location, not Kedrodassos.
Bring food and drinks and spend the whole day in here! It is that beautiful!

We were planning to visit elofonissi beach as well, but liked to go to kedrasos first, beacause of the snorkling possibilities. The beach is wonderful, beautiful water and good for snorkling. It was very windy though. You reach the beach after 2 kilometers of unpaved road and a bit of climbing down. Better experience than Elofonissi, less crowded.

Is exactly as the title describes it . Locals, campers and unconscious tourists leave or lose their garbage there so it stays forever.

I rated this "excellent" as it is., without to rate organization which is nearly zero. Only parking garbage is taken occasionally and that should be all, unfortunately. As I said here and elsewhere Greeks should learn to take care, well pack and properly sell their natural treasures. Making basic but fully functional facilities, employing people and charging entrance are the only ways to properly maintain environment and protect nature. Waiting for government and it's structures could lead to a total destruction in this case. If it's to protect, everything should happen on local level even before any legal decisions are made, at all costs. It's not necessary to explain moral or other obligations to do that that, let alone benefits and profit.

Critical: Trees are not protected! "Dry" roots are NOT DRY and are easily broken by walking people, there's so many of those going deeper and deeper in roots, trees and bushes just because proper sanitation is absent.. Warnings are not working but inviting people to come close.

Kedrodasos is so unique, it deserves SO much more than this.
