¡The train trip most spectacular in the world! Every day since 1961, El Chepe ventures into imposing landscapes of the Sierra Tarahumara, until it reaches the área that encompasses the most representative characteristics of the Tarahumara culture, history and folklore; the Barrancas del Cobre, or Copper Canyon, as this región is know worldwide.

We booked our ticket well in advance and really looked forward to this, it did not disappoint. It actually over-delivered. The train is very comfortable, with lots of leg room (and I'm Dutch), the restaurant is decent and the views are amazing. The windows aren't...More

Our 10 day trip beginning in Chihuahua to El Fuerte and back to Chihuahua was one of our best trips ever. Our guide, Lorenzo, made us feel comfortable every where, even in the rural Indian villages, where we had quite an education on their lifestyle....More

As the only passenger train in Mexico, there's nothing similar to compare it to. The views during the ride are incredible. The train actually slows a bit in the special sites so you can take pictures. You can go between the carts and take good...More

I've been traveling to the Copper Canyon region in Mexico for work/pleasure for the past 25 years. Riding on the train and in the vestibules in between the cars is always as fun as the first time I went as a kid. Machaca and eggs...More

Barbara, I can't say because we flew in and took a taxi to the station. I don't have a gauge for the safety of the neighborhood the station is in.
