I just wanted to take a moment and let you know what a great cycling trip we had with Cycling Country on the October 5th, 2022 8 day Enchanted Andalusia Bike Tour. From the very first email to the last goodbye, every detail resulted in the most incredible trip. Our group of 18, were so impressed with the quality and attention to detail everyone provided, to insure the very best of trips.

The 3 cycling guides led by Javi were excellent and provided the utmost care for the group. We appreciated the itinerary/safety meeting every morning, with a description of route and elevation gain or taking care in long downhill descending curves. We had one crash and the team was immediate with first aid attention.

The guides at Mosque-Cathedral,Cordoba and Alhambra, Granada, were excellent, attractions not to be missed. Javi helped out on the tour of Nunez De Prado, family olive oil processing center. Very interesting and informative.

Lodgings were worth the whole trip, historical and fascinating. Food was plentiful and delicious. Local wines were amazing and very inexpensive, 3-4 Euro in many places or came with dinner.

The biking equipment was top rate, we had road bikes with half of the group on ebikes. Note, make your decision on type of bike early on with deposit, as ebikes are becoming very popular and in high demand. Water bottles and beautiful jerseys were included. Also, phone holders and front handle bags were available with no charge.

Maria, Maggi, Geoff, the three guides, and Dean, are the most gracious and considerate individuals, one could possible hope for in planning your cycling trip. Excellent tour company with the most wonderful people.

My wife and I are planning on doing another trip with Cycling Country in 2023'

A group of 4 of us did the self guided “Cycle to the Med” tour in early March and it was a lovely experience!

It was all of our first times booking a cycling tour which was a bit nerve wracking at first, but Cycling Country made it all a breeze. They provide so much information— the Ride with GPS app has accurate routes, some warnings and notes, and restaurant recommendations. They also provide historical notes through the app and their guide book. When we were corresponding with the team from Cycling Country beforehand, they had ensured us that we wouldn’t need to do much planning beforehand and that was really true! Everything you need is in the guide book and app which made it easy for us to just focus on the beautiful scenery and cycling. I think some minimal planning beforehand and reading up on history was good enough and then the rest of the information you can easily learn through the resources the team provides you. The whole team was also super helpful and nice the whole trip through.

The routes themselves were fantastic. There’s a few different options per day and Geoff (who we met with on our first day) gave us some great pointers for the routes (where you should be more careful, what to expect from each ride, etc). We all preferred the quieter routes in the mountains as it gets quite busy in the city so if you do this tour, definitely take advantage of the longer routes that go through the small towns.

The hotels were absolutely beautiful as well!! Perhaps we were lucky with the hotels because we came during off season, but we were all very impressed by the choices that were booked.

We would for sure book another trip with Geoff and Maggi in the future! We had such an incredible experience and it will be a trip to remember!

Thank you so much! What an awesome review to start off the year! We are delighted you enjoyed your Andalucian cycling trip to Málaga with us and your first ever, bike trip as well. Happy to hear that you appreciated the historical info and tops tips provided. Cycling Spain's Mediterranean coast there is just so much history to see! :) Great news that you thought the hotels were top notch. We know that after a long day in the saddle, you need a bit of luxury! Thank you for choosing us for your trip and we hope to see you again! Have a great spring.

We just finished the Cycling Country Bike Tour "Enchanted Andalucia" from Sevilla to Granada, and everything about it was great. Our guides, Geoff and Maggie (and company owners) were awesome. They had the route planned out perfectly, with coffee and lunch stops along the way. All of the accommodations were first class, better than my wife and I are accustomed to on our travels. I paid a little extra for a carbon road bike, and the bike fit perfect and rode like a dream. No problems at all, and if there were, Geoff was there for any minor adjustments repairs. They were also quite flexible, giving me options on several days to get some additional mileage beyond the planned rides. This was my wife's first ever multi-day cycling trip, and the experience was so good she can't wait to do another. You won't go wrong with Cycling Country, and you'll save a bundle compared to Backroads.

What a truly extraordinary experience! Maggi provided endlessly thoughtful suggestions and perfect recommendations throughout the planning process, as well as at each stop along the way, particularly the restaurants. The trip could not have been more perfectly curated or better supported on the ground.

Biking was absolutely the most beautiful way to explore the coast and the daily routes were well planned. Each day felt like an experience of a lifetime from the biking to the views and to the very fresh seafood and excellent cuisine along the way.

We left most days just after breakfast so we could be in the next destination by lunch time to explore the new place and enjoy the experience. I thought the hotels were also perfectly selected and all were notified in advance of my special dietary requirements.

It was my first time on a self-guided bike tour and while it took a little coordination and organization, I really enjoyed the freedom to be at my (our) own pace. Distances, routes and pace were all appropriate for the level.

I express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Maggi for all her assistance with planning and patience with the itinerary changes due to COVID (flights not the bike trip). I also thank Simon who looked after us locally on the ground. He provided excellent suggestions and flawless support.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of our self-guided cycling tour, Spain’s Green Coast. We do really appreciate any feedback and are absolutely delighted that you enjoyed this northern cycling route from Bilbao and came away so enthusiastic about the tour, and this area to cycle. That is tremendous and that is what we like to hear! We agree, there is a lot to see and experience in this area and one of the highlights is the food. So happy to hear that our dining / visiting recommendations were successful, the on ground contacts were helpful and the hotels were well received and enjoyed. That is Great news. It was a pleasure to plan and organize this tour with you and we hope that you will think of us again for other tour adventures in the future! Kindest regards, Maggi

Last week I did the self guided Quiet Paths tour as a group of three people and had an amazing experience beyond my expectations. Maggi and Geoff made planning the trip a breeze and were incredibly helpful, experienced, and responsive.

To start with, the routes were beautiful. On the scenic loop we stopped constantly to take photos and take in the beautiful sights.  Everything was easy to follow. Especially on the scenic parts there were many stretches where there were practically no cars at all which really made the experience so so freeing and enjoyable.  Everything I wanted in a rural, scenic bike tour!

The equipment was great and very thoughtfully prepared.  We received a hard copy packet with all route information, brochures, and step by step turn instructions.  There was also an app (Ride with GPS) which they programmed with a daily write up of what to expect, metrics such as elevation, and a map with turn by turn instructions.  I downloaded the app to my phone and during the ride, I kept the app on with the volume up loud and it called out the next directions.  Very easy to follow.  We used the hybrid bikes which were excellent.

As for lodging, all the hotels were excellent, beautiful, cosy, welcoming, and of course comfortable and clean.  The food offered for breakfast and sometimes dinner at the lodging was excellent.  I would love to come back to Cortijo la Fe in the summer for a week to relax!  It was an unexpected hidden gem and and Nina and Jean were great hosts.

Maggi and Geoff were super responsive. At the start of the trip we were a little worried about the weather, since we were basically at the end of the season.  Part-way through the forecast took a turn for the worse.  We stayed in communication with Geoff and kept an eye on it.  When we decided not to attempt the last day given the heavier rain forecast, we were easily able to communicate and arrange a bailout and we hitched a ride in the van with our bikes and luggage to the final destination in Granada.

Despite the challenges of planning a trip for three people coming from the different cities to meet and do a bike tour in Spain during covid, Maggi and Geoff helped us have an amazing experience with their excellent bike tour and professionalism.  They know their stuff!!!

This was my first bike tour ever, and after such a great experience I would love to do it again with Cycling Country.

Cycling with Geoff the first week of the Vuelta 2021 was an absolutely Priceless experience. We cycled in 6 days about 450km, climbed well over 5000meters, and followed 4 days the Vuelta. Each day was beautifully different and very unique. Geoff could not have been a better host - knowing the intimate details of the Vuelta, the challenges of the roads in Spain, but most of all was good fun to hang around with.

Dear Bram, Thank you so much for writing a great review about La Vuelta bike tour! What a memorable week that was – too many scenic kms to mention but most all of it was great getting to know you both. The smiles at the VIP stage finishes, that tough but epic Picón Blanco climb and the time trial we rode in Burgos (well I never saw you at the end as you sprinted off!) were so much fun to share. I hope you both return…or better still I hope to see you at the depart week in Utrecht, your home country the Netherlands, for La Vuelta 2022 of course😉. Best regards to you and your family, Geoff

My son and I did the self-guided White Villages tour. All the Cycling Country staff and the shittle drivers have been great. When we had trouble with a bike on our 3rd day, Geoff was there in just thr time it took us to eat lunch and brought an even better bike for my son to ride. And Maggi and Geoff have been in touch allbthe way making sure our tour is going smoothly, helping to even organize Caminito del Rey tickrts and transport and an extra day loop out ouf Ronda to do the Puerto de los Vientos pass.
It's been a trip of stunning views from hills and valleys, amazing wildflowers, olive and almond groves, lovely towns and hotels to stay in, etc.
Our legs did the work while here, but Cycling Country did all the leg work before to make it a memorable holiday.
And RidewithGPS app was a fantastic tool but I would recommend a bluetooth earpiece because it was hard to hear with the wind whistling in our ears.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of our Andalucian bike trip from Granada to Ronda. We are so happy you found the organization of your trip comprehensive and efficient. It is our pleasure! I am glad you enjoyed the scenery (we love it too!) and that we were able to make it possible for you to visit the Caminito and to cycle the Palomas climb in Ronda. You of course did all the work but, yes, aren't they awesome?! Many thanks and we hope to hear from you again in the future!

Just completed a fantastic 7 day bike ride ‘Enchanted Andalucia’ organised through Cycling Country. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to cycle through the south of Spain.
2 couples from Australia were joined by 3 others from the USA to experience some great riding from Seville through Palma del Rio, Cordoba, Zuheros, Antequera and Alhama de Granda with our last day touring the Alhambra Palace in Granda.
I upgraded the standard hybrid to the road bike which I am used to and my wife upgraded to the eBike which allowed us to cycle together. I would recommend anyone who is not a strong rider or just wants to have an easy ride to get the eBike, it makes the trip so much more enjoyable.
Cycling Country organised fantastic accommodation which included renovated convent’s, monasteries and a five star hotel all included breakfast with some lunches and dinners.
The ride guides, Dani and Javi were fantastic, they know the roads, the villages, coffee shops and provided local knowledge which made the days so much fun. One would lead the ride whilst the other drove the support van which carried our luggage, spare bikes and any tired riders as well as water and snacks to keep the riders fuelled.
I look forward to booking another ride through Cycling Country in other parts of Spain and Portugal.

In this time of uncertainty we seek a modicum of normalcy as a reassurance that things are getting better. To participate in the La Vuelta (thanks to the organizer for holding the event incident free) with Cycling Country was a surreal and complete experience.

Imagine riding Stage 21 time trial from start to finish on closed roads, standing in the communications booth and listening to the announcers, standing steps away from leader jerseys at the start line before the start of a stage, and watching Primoz Roglic round the last bend and sprinting to the finish at La Covadonga, then you get a mental picture of what the week was like. Yes, unbelievable!

Kudos to those that made it all work - Jeff, Maggie, Dean, Javi, and all the people that we came into contact with. Dean and Javi provided lead on the rides and a skilled rider to draft behind. Jeff for leading the coordination and doing pulls in front, and Maggie for being first point of contact and leading thru the booking process.

Accommodations, provided dinners, and cycling snacks and kits were exemplary. At the last stop, Santiago de Compostela, we stayed at the same hotel with three other teams.

Do know that this is a full week of cycling activities from sun up to late into the evening. If you would some time to explore the area like I did, do ask for it. The trade off was missing part of a ride, which was acceptable as one never knows when a return visit is in the offering. Prior to this period we are experiencing I understand a parallel, non-riding schedule was available to the non-riding spouse.

Oh yeah, we had the super VIP booth located literally next to the time trial finish line and saw the awards ceremony steps away from the stage.

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words about this year's Cycling Country’s Vuelta bike Tour. They make us not only proud, but striving to create even better cycling experiences! So wonderful to hear of your enthusiasm of all the moments you experienced in this very Spanish pro-cycling Grand Tour! We love that you loved being part of La Vuelta and think you summed up the entire Vuelta bike trip experience perfectly. The planning that we do throughout the year to make this a highlight road cycling tour, those hours spent reccying, reserving great hotels and riding routes, are hard but when we get a great review like that, it is a tremendous thanks. Thank you! As well, when we see all the experiences listed like that, boy, is it ever a packed full and busy road bike tour! 😊 For us being part of La Vuelta, is always an adventure and we try very hard to impart that thrill to our guests about this Grand Tour. It doesn't matter what level of rider you are or even if you are a non-cyclist, we just want you to come away feeling completely motivated to keep riding, watching La Vuelta and just enjoying cycling. So it is really rewarding to hear that your experiences were listed positively as “unbelievable”, “exemplary” and “surreal”. We love the last one, yes, it sometimes seems completely surreal to be so close to such an exciting cycling event. You can see why we are so passionate about La Vuelta! Thank you again and hope to see you again on another of our road bike tours.

We simply cannot say enough good about Cycling Country, Maggie and her team.
Our communication began over 2 yrs ago. I had contacted 3 different companies and 1 stood out above the rest. We received a response from Cycling Country within 24 hours with a positive, uplifting and professional email answering my many questions about biking with them.
Then, of course, Covid turned the world upside down☹

We chose to travel this September and as the trip got closer, a wealth of information was sent to us along with answering even more questions with pleasure! We were asked to download the Ride with GPS App and were sent a code specific for our trip. This code contained an UNBELIEVEABLE wealth of information including directions and maps and was so efficient for our daily routes! They even had a rubber phone holder attached to the bikes to hold our phones!
Meeting day arrived and were given all needs to begin riding, including a wealth of written information to read in our rooms. We were fitted to our bikes and a small glitch with our pedals was promptly solved!
The bikes were in great shape and super comfortable. They were equipped with a front handlebar bag as well to hold extras and 2 water bottle holders and water bottles!

The riding was spectacular (train for those climbs!!). The Spanish drivers are extremely conscientious of cyclists, each town was wonderful, the hotels were local, unique, comfortable and very central. Our luggage was brought to our next hotel and was always there upon arrival! Maggie even checked in with us a couple of times to make sure we were doing ok! 😊😊

We are back in Canada now and still talking about our amazing trip. We will use Cycling Country again and have already recommended them to many people. Thank you so much Maggie and Jeff for an unforgettable adventure.

Cycling Country Bike Tours (Alhama de Granada) - All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go
