I had visited this beautiful Park on my way back from Damnoen Sadauk floating market during my vacation in Bangkok. Entrance ticket is 60 baht per person. This is a very beautiful well maintained park which has museums, botanical garden, beautiful lotus pond, river side. Museums are located inside traditional wooden Thai house and showcasing traditional Thai lifestyle using beautiful life size wax models. It was a treat to walk around and see flowers , even saw a monitor lizard in the garden.

Royal Family support museum, this is supposed to be the birth place of Rama the 2nd. The house he was born in has been renovated and turn into a display of how the Thai people used to live back 240 years ago.

This is the kind of museum I would like to see more at every tourist destination. You get to see how the local people in the area live and how their life was like back in a time in history at the same time show the current way of life that is changing due to tourism and the economic transformation as well as due to environment changes.

Enjoy a stroll in the garden and being next to the Amphawa evening floating market, you can walk over to see the fireflies after sunset. That's what Thai like to do on their day off as well so expect people taking selfies, and lots of food.

The King Rama II Memorial Park is a lovely park that hosts a few small exhibits and nice examples of classical Thai architecture. Walking through we learned about Rama II and his passion for music. My favorite part was seeing his handwritten musical compositions and the masks from traditional Thai opera. That said, there isn't as much here as I would have liked. It would have made for a nice exhibit in a large museum, but by itself may not be worthwhile for everyone to seek out. For us, it was a peaceful respite in our tour and I am glad we went, but one need not necessarily see it more than once.

First stop: hire a traditional Thai outfit. Walk through the gardens as a lady or gentleman in Ayutthaya times. Stand on the bridge over the little canal and watch the fish swimming among the water lilies. Climb up the steps of the houses on stilts and walk through the living rooms with their wonderful tableaux. Visit the sweet museum. Watch the craftsmen building a chedi from sand. Then head down the path for the Floating Market...
