We wanted to drive quads on 90 mile beach, however the weather wasn’t great while we in the area and most tours were cancelled due to the King tides. We contacted this company and they were great getting back to us and suggesting safe times to come when the weather would be better, as well as confirming our booking.
When we arrived, we had a quick briefing on how to use the bikes, told how to acces the beach and sent on our way. The beach was fairly empty and this was great for us to have some fun. An hour is quite sufficient for driving along the beach.
Why have I not given this a 5 review? For us, this was an amazing thing to do, however the company weren’t terribly enthusiastic and it all seemed a bit ‘old hat’ for them. To make it a 5 star review, I would have liked a little more enthusiasm from the men showing us the machines, perhaps accompanying us on the drive down to the beach to make sure we were ok and a really nice touch would have been to take some photos of us, either with our cameras or uploading them to their FB page... just a couple of thoughts

Ahipara is located at the start of 90 Mile beach, we hired quad bikes here and went for a blast on the beach, the staff were very friendly and helpful and gave good instruction and encouragement to beginner riders that were with us, the gear was of good quality and safety gear was supplied as well as local knowledge. They also had a range of other fun geaer like Blo carts and sand sleights but we did nt use these. Recommended if your in that part of the world.

Quadbiking down 90 mile beach with Ahipara Adventures was lots of fun! A quick brief on how to work the quadbike and we were away. An hour of quadbiking was enough for both my partner and I to have a quick go on the quadbike together.

Our family was looking to ride ATV’s on the beach, it seemed like a fun activity for the 4 of us but at $120 EACH for one hour !!!! That was way to expensive . The owner wasn’t over enthusiastic about giving us information on the area . Disappointed but we found other things to do 👍and enjoyed our stay in Ahipara. Wouldn’t recommend this adventure center .

Turned up without booking, got 3 quad bikes, allowed to take the kids on the back.
Short ride on a quiet road before getting to the beach. We were the only quad bikes on the beach. Hardly anyone else on the beach.
So much fun and well worth the money! Would definitely do it again!

Rented Sand boards and Quad bikes. They were friendly and gave us good advice on how to spend the day and make the most out of it. The bikes were great and it's really close to the beach.

Getting to 90 Mile Beach is not for the faint of heart or the weary traveler - but it was well worth it. We rented Quad Bikes for 2 hours (you need more time if you want to go all the way to the end). By far this was the most memorable experience of our trip. Maybe it was because it wasn't high season or a weekend when we went but we had this amazingly beautiful beach almost all to ourselves.
You ride through town a short bit before you are able to get onto the beach. We only passed a few families that were on the beach with their cars - fishing or picnicking.
You won't regret this - couple the day with a trip to Cape Reinga and it will be one to write home about.
Tips: Make reservations in advance - otherwise you might arrive and they may not come in early if no one has pre-set a time.
Bring a backpack with water or a light lunch when you want to take a break on your ride.
The owner was super nice and recommended we grab lunch because it was still high tide and in an hour we would have more beach to drive.

Fantastic service from Robyn and what a great activity the blow carts were for our kids, they loved it. Would definitely go again.

We hired one quad bike between two of us. Just a charge of $30 for the passenger.
You drive down the road and then onto the 90 mile beach! It was a sunny day when we went but perfect for a cloudy day too. The views are beautiful and zooming along is so much fun.

Bit of a blowy day and so didn't get to do the blokarting - however, we didn't give up and rented out the quad bikes instead. Fun just doesn't say enough - had the beach virtually to ourselves and really blew out the cobwebs. Thanks heaps

Hi,
I want to surprise my boyfriend and want to hire a quad while we are around the 90 miles beach (beginning of March). Can we drive together on one? If yes, what would it cost?
Did I have to book the quad early or can we do it when we are there?

Hi Michelle
Thankyou for your enquiry.
We are open daily from 10am.
The tides are high in the afternoon from 21st, therefore morning hires are better suited.
Just give us a buzz the day ahead so we can book a time to suit you.
Kind Regards
Robyn
