A trip down memory lane
Nov 2021
I was there as a teenager. It has changed and is much more organised now. But still the beach dunes and the views across to Aberdyfi are fantastic.

Peaceful and stunning
Oct 2021 • Couples
Absol beautiful area with stunning views. Great for a picnic as it’s so clean and amazing. Our dog had a great time on the sand and in the dunes. Has to be seen best place in the area.

Beautiful place

I love it here. I love the walks. The scenery. It’s so peaceful and relaxing. Reasonable parking at £2. Little visitor shop with snacks and tea and coffee. Could spend all day there listening to the sea and enjoying the lovely views

Nothing to see
Sep 2021
I don't see the point of this. We went in early September and there is nothing to see, just a walk in the sand dunes. No birds, it is a no swimming area and greatly frequented by dog walkers. Great if you want to let your dog go in the sea and run around free.

Toilets, machine made coffee and well presented display material about the area.

You might a well just go on the beach at Borth.

Hi David, thank you for taking the time to give your thoughts. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your time at Ynyslas - many people come here specifically BECAUSE there's "not much to do", except soak in the quiet and natural beauty of the area - but it's not for everyone! Re. not seeing any birds, we do have a huge variety here - dunlin, sandpiper, plovers, curlew, lesser egret, many different types of gull, skua, sanderling, oystercatcher, warblers, corvids, stonechat, starlings, geese and many more! Some are resident, some are migrating visitors and some just pass over. It may have just been bad luck the day you visited - poor weather perhaps? It is a red flag beach due to the strong currents from the Dyfi and Leri rivers, which converge in the estuary and push out to sea. Together with the strong tidal currents, it's simply not safe to swim here - especially as there's no lifeguards. We appreciate that you took note of the warnings and stayed safe. See you next time if you give Ynyslas a second chance :)

Thank you for your lovely review! I do need to point out however, that we don't actually allow overnight stays at Ynyslas as it's a nature reserve. Glad you enjoyed your visit :)

Beautiful and quiet beach for an enjoyable walk. Tonnes of parking (only £2). Wander over the dunes and around the headland. Recommended for families!

Good Beach Walk
Jul 2021 • Couples
Parking on the beach for £2, it said no swimming however this didn't seem to stop a lot of people. Walk round the headlands or over the sand dunes. Visitor centre was a bit disappointing with minimal food options so better taking your own.
Overall a nice walk along the beach

Stunning scenery
Jul 2021 • Couples
The dune walk provided a lovely route through the dunes and out onto the beach before looping back round to the car park. A gorgeous and clean beach with pretty views across the water.

Good visitor centre and toilets, though of note that the cafe shut for lunch between 1-2pm.
