A great place to spend a few hours in a memorable adventure. To me, it felt more like a medieval fun park than just a castle. Prepare yourself for lot of steps and an adorable, new photo album.

It is a comfortably sized castle with a very pretty view on the hills sorrunding it. By this I mean that you do not need to walk hours to see everything, you can run through it inanhour and see every important bits. Of course you can spend way more time to read everything while you are walking along. A huge plus is that every sign is translated into English as well.

The castle was renovated a short time ago.
The musuem offers interesting bits for everyone. Weapons, furniture, histor, and folclore exhibitions are available.

The exhibitions also offer children entertainment. Toy sword and helmets, costumes to try on and so on. So it is also a nice family program.

We visited. There is no context or historical information on the place. The exhibits pretty much mean nothing if you cannot place them into some kind of historical context. Everything, including the AV presentations are in Hungarian. Coming here was pretty much a waste of time and money

I love castles. Baron János György Benyó is the original owner. The original family it is believed it died out and it became property of the Garai family. Viceroy Imre Perény owned it in the 16th Century. By 1728 the castle belonged to the counts of Batthyány.
During WWII it was damaged heavily. In 1955 restoration began, at one point it was a hotel. Now it is a museum for all to enjoy. It is fantastic and a great experience. The views from the top are fantastic. We observed some of the grounds are now part of other properties with houses as the stone fence runs all the way to those properties with houses. We could see our lodging -an apartment we rented- from the top of the castle, it was quite interesting too! The building has now an elevator, so I presume that people using a wheel chair can visit. I remember seeing ramps too.

Highly recommended, nice castle, maybe the best in Hungary. They also have a winery with a very talented sommelier. Very detailed, comprehensive exhibitions about the middle ages and also about the WWs. Must to see if you are around Villany region!

If you are near the area of Harkany, Hungary I highly advise for people to go and visit Siklos Castle you can park in the supermarket car park next to the bus station and walk for about five minutes up the ramparts into the castle and have a wander around the ground a little bit of money to go inside the castle I don’t know how much is as I have forgotten this information if you are working in pounds or euros it is a very much and the history behind this castle is just simply amazing that from my point of view anyway but other people have their own opinion. But it would be one of my top five things to visit in this area of Hungary and there is one more thing in Siklos I think you should visit which is the natural thermal spa which is probably about 5 to 10 minutes away by foot from the castle. And about two minutes from the castle there is a nice little restaurant called city café which one of the men who is awaiting speaks good English and the menus are in English and Hungarian so I would highly advise you because quality of food and have a nice area outside the beer if you like some wine. Siklos and Castle are a nice location thank can be quite romantic for couples to visit also for any Slavic or Austro-Hungarian history lovers or eco-tourism goers this is a perfect area to do all this stuff as there are also bike track you can go on and other various historical sites from the war to each history to burial ground and old wine vineyards to this area of Hungary is still well worth going.

Nostalgical place of my childhood. If you know the name "Capitan of Tenkes" you have to visit this castle.
