The Spa Park & the Colonnade in Podebrady.
Jul 2020
This review is a part of my July holiday stay in the Podebrady spa.
The Spa park cannot be separated from the modern colonnade in Podebrady.

It's an oasis for walking, relaxation and a place that allows you to breath and soak up the very spa atmosphere while sitting in one of the cafés or directly under the trees in the large spa park. The colonnade was built above a source of mineral water (formerly the Bocek from Kunstat's Spring).

The spring is still active and if the colonnade is opened, each visitor can taste it.

When entering the colonnade from the top (from the main square) you can see a statue of T.G. Masaryk by the sculptor Otto Gutfreund.

Nice, clean place, great for a walk and relax
Jun 2020
It is really nice place, perfect for a walk and relax. There is a big park with fountains and many benches, a lot of restaurants, cafés, bakeries or souvenir shops, you can enjoy flower clock there. The colonnade is situates between railway station and town centre.

Charming idyllic spa town
Aug 2019 • Family
Charming idyllic spa town 50 minutes outside of Prague. You arrive in the town and immediately walk into a beautiful park. We strolled along a pedestrian walkway into town and then to the beautiful lake that you can ride along for many kilometres on each side. We did have difficulty finding where to hire bikes and luckily by chance came across a bike shop (Vondr-Bike) that rented bikes with a very helpful young man (fluent in English). We rented bikes from him for only 200 kc each. We could have kept them for 24 hours, but only needed them for 3 hours. Riding along the river was stunning and one of the best parts of our trip (even in the rain)!

Nice park
Jul 2019 • Couples
Nice park, few weird people in it, but otherwise nice. I don't find the springs very tasty, but that's not their purpose.

Best train station exit ever
Sep 2018 • Couples
Walk out of the Podrebrady train station straight into the colonnade. Beautiful gardens, fountains, statues and tree lined avenues up to cafes, restaurants and hotels.

Lovely, shady park
Jul 2018 • Solo
Spending the month of July in Podebrady at the university. This park is large, clean and shady. Lots of mature trees. Shops and restaurants line one side. What appears to have once been a street on one side is now completely only for walkers, bikers, children on tricycles, etc. Very pleasant. Lots of park benches. A bonus during summer, there is a unique water feature that accommodates lots of kids. Like a man-made stream. Kids and adults can walk along in it. There's also a splashpad that's very popular & convenient.

Absolutely love the tranquility
Jul 2018 • Solo
Podebrady is one of the few spa cities that kept its original charm and feel. The park is an absolute gem, with the amount of old trees 🌲

Beautiful park, great atmosphere
Sep 2017 • Couples
Wonderful for strolling any time of day. Great fountain, statues, floral clock. Definitely try the spring water at one of several fountains. Buy a cup for 2 crowns or bring your own, then drink from any or all of the fountains for no extra charge. Hotels, restaurants and the spas all abut the promenade.

Nice walk but short
Aug 2017 • Friends
Very nice place with atmosphere but "kolonada" is quite short. One day is more than enough to stay in Podebrady. You can taste special sweet call "oplatka", sit in some cafe but not so much to see around.

Lovely promonade
Jul 2017 • Couples
A very relaxing half hour stroll round this urban park. Very well maintained and spotlessly clean.
Go there and enjoy!
Clever water feature and beautiful flower clock.
