We had a wonderful, relaxing afternoon at Casa El Enemigo (Casa Vigil) that truly was one to remember. We ordered a three-course lunch tasting menu, together with a three-course wine tasting, both of which were phenomenal. Despite our speaking very little Spanish, the staff did an excellent job accommodating the language barrier and did a wonderful job describing each wine that we tried. The food portions were both ample and delicious. We also received wonderful additional pairing recommendations, above and beyond the tasting that we originally ordered, which ended up being some of our favorite vintages.

We sat out on a beautiful, shaded patio among the grape vines, which we learned were young Malbec vines (~10 years old) and added to the wonderful ambiance. Due to exceptionally windy weather, the staff were accommodating by moving us to an inside table and were quite generous with both their attentiveness to our experience, as well as the wine pours.

The only difficulty we ran into is that, because of the exceptionally windy weather, their wifi went down and they were unable to process credit cards. While inconvenient, it was completely understandable given the time of year in which we visited and the proximity to the mountains. Would definitely recommend having cash (pesos or dollars) as a backup in case of such technological issues, but otherwise could not have been more pleased with our experience and would highly recommend visiting if you have the opportunity.

The estate is beautiful and it is evident a lot of thought has been put into its construction and the underlying themes that are reflected in the building and the products being produced there.

The wines are excellent and during the wine pairing dinner the somellier was able to keep up with our many questions and reply extensively in excellent English.

Despite the fact that we had checked both via FB messenger & email beforehand, we were greeted with surprise when we asked for a tour in English. Other than that, the experience was flawless and amazing and we highly recommend it. We ended up buying two bottles of wine.

We recommend this experience to all those visiting Mendoza and looking for a well thought out and executed wine pairing dining experience!

Loved it! It was our first time in Mendoza and started our trip with this amazing place. Made a reservation for dinner and also got a tasting of their Gran Enemigo wines (only for my husband as I was driving...). The staff attention was great - specially Luciano, who gave his best to explain all the details of the wine production and different characteristics between the ones we were tasting. The "maridage" between food and wines was incredible, food was very tasty and the menu carefully prepared (we got a table with a view to the kitchen, great adding by the way!). The place by itself has a great atmosphere and we left wishing to come back soon.
Great experience!

Amazing experience visiting casa vigil. The atmosphere is fantastic and the degustación is full of history and perfect wines. We tasted solo visitas y desgustaciones and it was excellent but next time we will schedule some time before to enjoy the restaurant with free wine degustation.

Great experience. One of the best Vineyard and restaurant in Mendoza, including te history envolved and some places on the site to discover and enjoy. The ambiance, food, service and wines simply perfect. Juan one of the vineyard tour guide is excellent, well conducted their tours with a lot of information about the wines process.

My wife and I took advantage of winery restaurants being open during the quarantine to have lunch at Casa El Enemigo. It was our first visit there. We had booked a table outside which was a good decision since the weather was absolutely perfect to be outside. We had a great time and even though the restaurant was packed about an hour after we arrived the service staff stayed friendly and attentive all along. We had the five course lunch with paired wines and we were absolutely delighted with both the food and the wines. The wines are high end and accompanied the dishes served very well. We found the protocol respects the recommendations, the tables were well separated, spread on the lawn with large umbrellas to provide shade. We will keep this restaurant on our list on places to go back to.

Beautiful property, attended by friendly, outgoing young men and women, very well informed of the food and wine they serve. The restaurant is expansive, with outdoor and indoor areas. We were lucky to be there on a beautiful, cool and sunny day and a had delicious and leisurely lunch under the olive trees, accompanied by El Gran Enemigo wines. Want to acknowledge the impecable service of Maira and Valentina.

Good experience, but I was expecting more. Actually, we loved the olive oil tasting (unexpected) more than the wine tasting. It worthwhile the visit as it is a beautiful place, the tour is pleasant while we walk among plantation. Best ever bread (integral) I tasted in Mendonza. Tour guide could be better. She missed empathy. She could show a little more passion and enthusiasm. Price wise, we thought it was too expensive

We were staying nearby and booked on a whim so had no prior expectations. Yes it is expensive but is it theatre, stunning food and of course amazing wines. We started the evening with a brief tour, just for our party of three whilst we sipped on a glass of bubbles. The food was amazing, no choice unless you specified, the star was the wine. Each glass was labelled and filled from the start and whilst the server suggested what might go week it was up to you decide what you liked best. I ended up enjoying three wines which were topped up constantly. I think in total we have 12 different drinks. I am so glad we went, happy memories

Food really really good (we tried all the appetizers, the ribs, the ossobuco and cacao ravioli and the gnocchi, all great! Desserts good too), drinks (wine) also amazing, as expected here (Gran Enemigo tasting); service was just perfect, all really kind helpful and knowledgeable. The place is really nice, only thing missing would be a mountain view, because I love mountains, but the building and the surroundings (vineyards) are beautiful too.
(almost no photos, too busy eating, sorry)
