Zuccardi Familia Bodgea was the last stop on our 3 winery tour and it was the best. We enjoyed a 3 course lunch with wines for each course at their Pan Y Oliva restaurant, capped off with an olive oil tasting. Outstanding expérience on a very hot day.

Zuccardi is one of the most successful family-run wineries in Argentina. It is a family business as the vineyard name would indicate. We came for a tasting and it was great. The original Zuccardi vineyard was founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi. He planted his vines in Maipu and modeled his irrigation system on ones he had seen in California when he worked in Napa/Sonoma. Today there are three generations working for the family business. Jose Alberto and Sebastian Zuccardi were recognized in 2007 as one of the five most influence personalities in Argentine wine.

Visited the winery on 30/12. Joined an small English speaking group. That was heaven. Had a very personalized tour and wine tasting experience. Very good quality wines at an exceptional price. The experience and the restaurant are much superior than the Zuccardi in Valle de Uco.
I recommend Santa Julia and it’s restaurant Casa del visitante and would come back.

This place has clearly become way too big for itself. We booked a bike tour and lunch (English option). We booked in October and were given a rate per person of 52.3K pesos. The email said “pricing subject to change”. Well when we showed up, the beginning of the tour started well. The bike ride was nice, beautiful vineyards. However, we found out later that they were combining us with another booked tour after the bike ride and we had to wait 30-40 minutes before the next section started. Also, they didn’t speak any English during the tasting after bilingual tour. We specifically booked an English tour. Usually I wouldn’t mind if I knew the tour would be all Spanish, but expectations should be set better. Also, after eating the lunch, we were given a check of 118k pesos per person, an over 2x increase in the original quote. This must be why they don’t ask you to pay until the day of service. I understand that the economy has changed, but to not notify us at all that the pricing has changed before the tour and to be told “you should have checked the pricing again before you came” was in excusable in our opinion. We were able to fight them down to 79K pesos per person, but they wouldn’t honor their original price. Beware of what you’re getting here as it isn’t as it seems when you book.

What a fun winery tour which included a bike ride through the vineyards. Highly suggest making a stop. DO NOT miss their restaurant for an authentic asado. The food was out of this world. Try to fit in an olive oil tasting if you can.

This place was tops on everyone's list on where to have a great winery lunch so we couldn’t pass it up. It wasn’t located near the other Maipu wineries so do factor that into your planning if you are going there on your own (ie. not on a set tour) and be sure to make advance lunch reservations.
The Zuccardi restaurant was set back off the highway in a leafy garden/park inside the vineyard grounds in a charming house with terracotta floors. They offered us a 3-course traditional Argentine menu which came with their Santa Julia house wines or an elaborate 6-course menu of nouvelle cuisine dishes and more high-end wines. We chose the 3-course meal which was 280 pesos (USD 70) total for the both of us.
Our meal began with an excellent cup of cream of pumpkin soup and we were offered our choice of 4 of their white wines (Torrontes, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay or Viognier). The next course was our choice of beef, chicken and/or cheese empanadas which were accompanied by one of their specialty red wines, a Tempranillo. The entrée course was a plethora of grilled meats, sausages, chicken, etc. which were served with a large salad and grilled vegetables. We again had our choice of red wine for this course and their Santa Julia Malbec went perfectly with everything. For dessert, there was a Bavarois (a type of flan) served with caramelized apple-walnut compote and a fig half, as well as a dish of fresh red grapes, and one of their dessert wines. Espressos and mini-shortbread cookies followed.
I also want to mention Zuccardi’s homemade olive oils. There were 3 different kinds set out on our table and then during lunch, we were also given a dollop of their “Olive Oil of the Day” which had been pressed only 5 days prior. It was all delicious! After lunch, our host Fred gave us a quick tour of their cellars under the restaurant where a good deal of their wine is stored.
We both agreed that it was $70 well spent and would recommend lunch here to anyone. Whereas Ruca Malen's lunch felt upscale and chic (and had that amazing view of the mountains), our Familia Zuccardi meal had a friendly, casual vibe. The food was at each place different but equally good.

Our experience at Zuccardi was fantastic. Our group of 4 started with a cooking class enhanced by the bubbly we sipped while learning to make bread, empanadas, and a tasty dessert. Next we toured the winery & enjoyed wine tastings with a very entertaining and knowledgable guide. Finally we returned to the winery's restaurant for a great lunch which included some of the food we made earlier and of course more delicious wine. The added bonus of our visit was meeting winery owner Jose Zuccardi & discovering our families came from the same area of Italy!

Arranged a wine tasting at Saint Julian (owned by Zuccardi) followed by lunch. The wine tasting was indoors in their wine shop, and was very basic intro to wine: sniff, swirl, swish, spit. Discussion of varietals and of terroir. Their wines for the basic tasting are good but not spectacular. Tasting followed by a tour of the facility. Again, nothing amazing if you’ve done any wine tours in Napa, Chile, etc. good intro. Warm and friendly young woman doing the tour. In Spanish, although she could discuss in English if you needed.

We stopped here on a wine tasting tour of Mendoza and were blown away. While it's no surprise that the wine was good, I was surprised that it was THAT good. Torrontes is insane! And Tito tastes better than a blend should be allowed to taste. Don't cut corners on your trip, take the tour and do the tastings. But if you go there for one reason only, it should probably be the food. The empanadas will haunt your dreams, as will the sausages and salads—all lovingly prepared over wood/vine fires. Eat al fresco if you possibly can, as the atmosphere only makes the experience better. We met Julia Zuccardi, who was incredibly gracious and kind. In fact, given the "attraction" nature of Familia Zuccardi, it very easily could have become a Disneyland for wine with an irrational amount of tourist-pleasing shlock. But the family has done an exceptional job of maintaining the integrity of the experience and the quality of their products. My only regret is that I didn't spend more time there.

When I visited Mendoza I had the opportunity to visit Zuccardi Winery in MaipĂş.
It was my first time in a winery, I love wines and I learnt a lot in this beautiful place. And Zuccardi wines... wow! A and Q are outstanding in my favorite list.
At the end of the visit, we shared a dinner with their workers, owners and, of course, all their wine labels. It was awesome.
