After the Pasrai olive oil factory, Vistandes was the next bodega we visited as part of our Mendoza wine tour. The vineyard outside the main facility is large, and almost forest like to explore. We were told that they host weddings and other events here and it is easy to see why; for us though, it was relaxing enough to stand in the spray of the large vineyard sprinklers on such a hot day. The facility itself was all sleek and modern, as would be expected from one of Mendoza's newest bodegas.

The tour guide, an American girl, was surprisingly knowledgeable about not only the wine making process, but also the topography of the Mendoza region, and the general history of the local area for its artisanal food and drink products. It was nice to have this alongside yet another tour explaining how wine is made - which I, like a great many Europeans, have done several times in various countries. The tour did include a little section on the equipment used here, and how it differs from some of the other bodegas though; interestingly the use of tunnels in the floor and walls to move the wine around the building during the fermentation process instead of simply using different large vats.

"Now for the best part, the wine tasting," the joke was already overused and of course we got it again, but the tasting itself seemed fairly short compared to our precious experience. Three wines were sampled, all red, including the one "lost grape" variety. However, the sample sizes poured here seemed smaller than in other places. Perhaps because the wine here has won more awards and is therefore more expensive, but still, it would have been nice to taste a little more given how much we paid for the tour.

We hire the Chill & Wine & Ride experience.
We first visited the interior of the winery and Enzo accompanied us on a bike tour through the vineyards, while he explained the entire process of caring for and harvesting the crops in a very entertaining and detailed way. Afterwards he took us to a tasting of two wines and to finish with a snack of cheeses and sausages, accompanied by a third wine, along with fruit, yogurt and granola (since we had requested a vegetarian option). Everything was perfect and the staff treated us wonderfully. Especially Enzo, who was in charge of guiding us on the visit.

Chill & Wine AND Ride: We started the tour with a visit inside where we were able to see the entire production process and then go out, take a bike ride through the vineyards, take photos and accompany it with a magnificent explanation from Enzo, the agricultural engineer. Next we did a tasting of 3 wines and a snack (they made it easy for us to order the vegetarian option) accompanied by a master class on how to appreciate all the characteristics of the wine, again given by Enzo, who adapted to our requests and questions perfectly. We leave very happy after spending a very nice morning in a luxurious environment where they made us feel at home.

As I said, it is an excellent construction, the wine, although they made the effort to adapt the typical Chilean Carmenere strains to Argentina... As Neruda said when they served him cheap wine saying that it was from his land: "This wine "The trip was very bad." A tasting in which they don't explain much about the matter, but they do tell about the winery. They were not to my taste, I didn't even rinse the glass. Too sweet, they say that "they don't sell in the market..." They only export to the USA and if they like these sweet wines there. If you want to buy from us, they sell them at a good price.

Vistandes is a modern winery located near the city of Mendoza in the town of Maipu.
It has a rest and among its wines in addition to our outstanding malbec, they make one based on the best known Carmenere grape in our neighboring country Chile. .
The tasting tours sweet and red wines over which my preference is in the Malbec Reserva. I was also able to taste the Malbec Rose variety that I didn’t know and found pleasant.
The winery offers a complete tour of its facilities and its guides spare no detail.
Suggested visit if you are in Mendoza.
One last info, the prices are interesting and have good promotions.

It is a perfect combination of luxury and authenticity. It is a boutique winery so there is not much more to add. The tour of the plant is very pleasant, the winery still shows that it is "young" so it is very nice to visit.
Now the important thing and what everyone wants to read, the tasting. There is a tasting of 4 wines, a sparkling wine, a rosé, a malbec and if memory serves, a carmenere.
I can't comment on the wine, since each palate is different and is more than respectable.
If you book a tour with Cepas, it is one of the wineries that you visit during the tour.

It does have the charm of old winery since it's pretty new but the tour is well explained, the staff friendly and the wine is not so bad (except their "rosé" which is red and is a shame)

The wine is sold only to visitors and special clients. Their specialty and unique product is the "Gradum selection of wine". They don't sell it on shops. They do mail the bottles wordwidely. I higgly recomend the Carmenere and Malbec.

Vistandes is one of the hundreds wineries you can visit at Mendoza. It's not the best one either in wines or tours. But it's a good one. The structure is ok and the highlight was the guide who was extremely nice and was really trying to explain all process the best way he could. The tasting was simple - a regular Malbec and a Torrontés which was great. The wines are not expensive and it accepts credit card what is a major thing in Mendoza. If you can, visit.

We visited as part of a half day wine tour booked via GetYourGuide at a very reasonable price.
The visit was excellent, interesting and with just enough detail.
