Nice town with a fantastic view over the Abruzzo landscape

The town is small and very ancient with small houses and narrow allayes. Found a nice restaurant with exellent pasta! Take the time to walk around the fortress.

Very well preserved/restored medieval town and a spectacular fortress with gorgeous views of idyllic landscape. For a couple of moments I felt like being on the Game of Thrones set somewhere in King's Landing. Italy has many hidden gems, this is definitely one of them. Ridiculous small amount as entrance fee - 5 EUR, if I recall correctly.

Well worth the trip to get here. The fortress is well preserved and a reasonable entrance fee charged. If, like us, you like to see and take in everything then allow a couple of hours for your visit. Be prepared for a steep climb to get there from the village (which in itself is worth a wander around) if you... More

The second largest Fort in Europe and its history is interesting. I have seen numerous Forts around the United States and I have seen machu pichu, and this one is interesting and worth the visit of you're near.

It is worth going out of your way to visit the fortress as it is well conserved with a beautiful history.

We stumbled upon this gem when driving south from Ascoli Piceno to take the majestic drive over the Apenines to Rocca Calascio. Certainly glad we stopped to visit! This is a much more interesting castle to explore than Rocca Calascio, and the views are also impressive. Took about two hours to explore thoroughly - its really massive.

It was a bit cold when we went, however not many people about so plenty of opportunity to look in every nook and cranny. Bought the English guide book which helped, but as we walked round could have done with more information in English, however still enjoyed the visit. The views from the end of the castle over the valley... More

Disorganized staff, we were separated into groups for the many reservations acceptedI so I could partially see the show 'wild' even though I paid the full ticket, for what I have seen the show 'wild' is beautiful
