My son and I just came back from Mount Purro. We were booked until 14 June, but after just one day we decided to check out. It is so humid! The rooms are not air-conditioned. I was told that there is no air-conditioning, but they reassured me that because of the trees all around the reserve it would be cool. I was sorely disappointed! It gets cooler at night but the humidity is constant.
Even a minute after taking a shower I was sweating. The food is also disappointing. Meat is dry, overcooked. Veggies are cooked in uninspiring ways. I guess you don't go there for the food but for hiking, etc. You need to be forwarned that if you're out of shape don't go. Most places worth seeing can only be shared by going up many stairs. There is no railing along the stairs so if you miss a step you could fall and injure yourself. I will never go back. I lost a lot of money because I paid for 3 nights and 4 days, but never mind: I will not endure another night in that humid cabin. You can only get water by going down to the dining hall. If you find yourself needing a drink at night, you might get into an accident going down the steps with little lighting.

Marvelous day in the mountains. A guided hike took us to the top of the mountain for marvelous views of volcanic mountains. Then back down a different route through the jungle. Lunch was a Filipino selection of chicken and rice, veggies and other delicacies - all delicious! Then we had our choice of spots to rest and relax before the next adventure - a walk through the village to the river for a waterside/river crossing hike. A full day of peace and quiet in the mountain jungle.

I’m giving this a 3-star review because of the things that can be improved. The place is sooo awesome and it's sad if it will not be rectified the soonest.

Me and my colleagues checked-in for a night and here are the things I will include this review:

PROs

1. Accommodating Staff
*note that this will also be included in my Cons
- Isabel and Vlad from the kitchen were really accommodating. Me and my friends asked them tons of questions such as what’s in the menu, why is this like this or that... but they handled it with professionalism and a smile (though I know we were really becoming irritating that time).

2. Owner
Mr Malvar approached us and had a little bit of convo which doesn’t happens lot in other establishments.

3. The vicinity
- The place is really good for relaxation. (Note that I wrote relaxation. I will explain more under Cons)
- Cottages are really big and I admire it a lot.
- I don’t know if it’s because of the weather in December, but the place was cool (like in Tagaytay) and it was refreshing :)
- The playground looks really good. Kids will sure enjoy it. Thanks to Master Rodel’s plan :)

4. Massage
Damn! The massage I had was really good. People call them “Kambal” (twins). They are sisters, not twins but they look supper alike, hence they call them Kambal. Maybe they were just happy that me and my friend were really accommodating so I didnt get to really just relax and enjoy the moment because they were talking the whole time. But still the massage was the best part of my stay. :)

4. Designated smoking area
- it’s good that they don’t allow people to just smoke anywhere they want. I just wish there are cottages which you will allow people to smoke so people who are also enjoying the bonfire (where smoking area is) will not suffer from 2nd hand smoke. I hope this make sense.

5. Turon from Snack. :)
Reallly yummmy!

CONS
1. Staff
- some staff members have no idea what we’re asking about. Some don’t even answer at all.
- contradicting statements : one said there’s a heater that they can turn on when using the pool, then the other said there’s none. Hayyy!!!!
- assigned staff (specifically in the bonfire area) had to be called. no, actually, we had to go down again and ask from the kitchen/reception, so we can be assisted in the bonfire area. We were told there’ll be someone stationed in case we need to order drinks.

2. Bathroom
-we had two bathrooms in our cottage but only one has a heater. BUT the heater wasn’t working!!! Yup, I know how to operate a heater so I’m confident it wasn’t working.
- no bidet.

3. Stairs (in the cottage)
Oh boy this was really a struggle. The stairs was really steep and the step was made out of bamboos? which were really slippery and dangerous for kids, and even adults.

4. Cost of food
We wanted to order lunch and was ready to pay for it. When we asked how much was it, it was 450 per head. OMFG! Are you kidding me? They were saying that they had to prepare it as buffet blah blah, but 450 is too much! Realllly tooo much!!
The snack is a plated meal. I find it ridiculous as my voucher said that we have buffet snack dinner and bfast. When I asked the staff, he said, that what I received was from the old voucher they are no longer using. Well, it's not my fault because that's what they sent me and we should've been given what's in the voucher, right? That's how stuff goes!!! Anyway, the food was good, we had chicken noodles and turon. If we were to ask another bowl, we will be charged for about 200 or 300 I guess? I forgot but there'll be a payment. That disappointed us, really.

5. Vicinity
This place is for relaxation, right? Well, a group of call center agents, about 20ish of age, was talking really loud and don't even consider who the people around them. What's sad is, Master Rodel and some staff are with us in the bonfire area, along with this group, and they didn't even bother to talk to them to lower their voices down. We had to do it our way, which I admit was rude, because they were really annoying. They (the group) don't even want to let us get some of the pillows because they were using it. Uhmm? hello? We also paid to use the amenities so we had to right to get a share of the pillows that were using. I mean, had the staff inserted their authority to 1) shut them up and 2) decide on the stupid pillows, then our night could have been perfect. I hope I'm making sense. The goal of your establishment is to have people relax and enjoy nature away from noise. I hope you will strictly implement noise control on your future guests. Not that we're old hahah but still, the idea is to have a peaceful vacation.

6. Payment and Refund
We paid in full using our company's card because we wanted to make sure we can lock in our dates of accommodation. However, 2 of our members weren't able to make it because of an emergency (both of them had their immediate family members admitted in the hospital). I was told they will not be able to refund because we paid via credit card; however, if we paid in cash (which is to deposit 50% of the total bill), it'll be easy. I just don't see the point because payment via cc can be reversed and we're willing to cover the charge if there's any. I would understand if we will cancel the accommodation and will ask for a refund. It's also very inconsiderate as nobody is expecting that someone will be hospitalized on the day we're about to relax. I hope you can correct this in case this happens again in the future. OR put this information in your print so if someone asks, you can show it as a proof and nobody gets annoyed. :)

There a lot of things that can be improved on and I hope you'll take immediate actions/solutions so your guests will have a wonderful experience.

Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains is a haven that offers a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of the City. Commune with nature, take a dip in the warm infinity pool or work up a sweat with their rope courses or hiking trails. They have sprawling camp grounds where you can host your next school field trip or company teambuilding as it offers spacious conference venues and charming accommodations. The top-rated bountiful feast of family recipes and culinary explorations is such a treat! All guests consistently rave about the amazing food! Stay the night under a canopy of trees and a blanket of starts and enjoy the cool mountain breeze. It's truly Antipolo's best-kept secret!

Since our goal is to unwind from the nerve-wracking errands at work we chose Mt. Purro Nature Reserve as our relaxing spot this sembreak as a referral by an ally. This was our first time to visit an unfamiliar place but because the area was well-advertised and the deals from the description on the website seemed extravagant yet “affordable”, we took the chance to give it a try. We had it partly wrong.
The place looked homey and decent from the pictures, which was absolutely true, yet upon our arrival, there was no security guard to open the gate and apparently lead us into the reception area.
The place itself looked good and decent from the inside and outside. It was indeed a perfect place for relaxation. However, upon checking in we were disappointed by the delay from the unaccommodating staff, yet the owner of the place intervened as there were already a bunch of clients waiting in queue holding up the same agony.
The amenities and few services were mediocre. The price was abrupt, which would have been alright, but few of the amenities and hospitality did not deserve that price. Not to mention the towels which were required to be rented for fifty pesos per roll, in additional we thought that our rented tricycle will be the only expense for the river/falls tour on the next day, however the tour itself has a corresponding price. It chilled us for a couple of minutes. So we checked out on the next day. And with a sigh, “never again”.

Hi! Thank you for visiting Mount Purro Nature Reserve. We have been blessed with the recent increase in the number of kind-hearted visitors we have been having who have been truly appreciative of our humble efforts of promoting love for nature by providing a place for families, friends, and organizations to commune with nature and at the same time bond with each other. I agree with you when you say that MPNR is a "perfect place for relaxation." ;) Bursting with nature yet just a stone's throw away from the city, it is indeed a convenient nice place to visit when feeling tired and stressed. I apologize if we did not meet your standards of service. We always seek to give our guests the best experience by providing very warm and personal customer service. Rest assured that we are constantly making changes to our operations to be more responsive to our current situation. Thank you for your comments. We highly value the feedback we get from our guests. Kindly allow me respond to each one :) 1. On the issue of checking-in: This is a newfound challenge because of the increase in number of visitors we have been having. Thankfully, most have been patient and understanding. Nevertheless, we are working on improving this process to make it more convenient and hassle-free:) Thank you for the feedback. 2. On the issue of towels: We advise all our guests to bring their own towels and toiletries. As far as I know, we never require anyone to rent out towels. Please get in touch with us to narrate how this happened exactly. :) 3. On the issue of the river excursion fee: Unfortunately, outside excursions are only suggested activities and not part of the package inclusions (as specified on our website). However, when our staff mentioned that you were unaware of the additional fees, I personally approached you, immediately apologized, and offered to make the river excursion a complimentary activity. :p Will take concrete steps so that this kind of misunderstanding may be avoided in the future :) Once again, thank you for visiting our outdoor home away from home. Best wishes to you and your family. God bless :)

We went there on a day tour and the place looks great and has lots of amenities. It has cabanas where you can hang out, a pool to dip in, a game room, a large playground for kids to have fun, and also a hiking trail. For the price, it's really reasonable and you'll get to have a buffet for lunch. Lunch was good and I really liked that they prepared salads, meats, fishes and vegetables so everyone have choices.

This place has got to be the perfect Getaway near the Metro! Its about a 45 minute to an hour drive from C5. You can do everything here! We arrived pretty early at around 7am so we started with our hike and was able to reach the summit at around 8/8:30am. After getting down back to the resort, we were able to mingle and talk with the local tribe where they taught us how to cook sinigang the authentic way. They even taught us how to start a fire with sticks and dried leaves. Afterwards, we had our actual lunch in Loli's kitchen! Super great filipino food! I really loved the buffet set up and every dish felt like a home cooked dish made with love! After eating, we took an hour siesta in one of their gazeebos before doing a trek to the river at around 2pm. The river wasn't so deep because it was summer then, but it was a refreshing dip. We were back in the resort at around 4pm where we swam for another hour before washing up and heading back to Metro Manila.

Its the perfect place for a day trip getaway. Family friendly, date worthy, and relaxing. Would definitely come back when the hustle and bustle in the city becomes a bit too much again!

- we love the area and the advocacy
- my 3 year old was thrilled to sleep in a bahay Kubo and enjoyed the playground and pool though I wish they would fix some of the areas of the playground like the netting that had a very big hole which children if not careful can fall through and break their bones.
- the food was good for the price you are paying
- beddings though could use some improvement / freshening up as they smelled a bit funny.
- over all a memorable experience

₱1200.00 for day tour.... NOT WORTH IT. Personnel discouraging saying trail was wet and slippery. River trek not clean and not part of reserve. People washing clothes.
