I visited this small castle many years ago but now there is more to see. Great views over the lake/embalse. I didn't think it was worth paying to visit the small gardens, they can be seen from above.

Very well maintained, nice views and interiors well worth seeing. I completely lost myself in the library, their collection is beautiful. The price is adequate to the visit but it may be a little to much to people on a budget. Nevertheless, there are times when you can visit for free (Jan 6th was when I did it).

Took a day's drive from Madrid. Unfortunately it was a rainy day so all we did was the castle and then decided to head back to the city (no fun sightseeing in the rain with 4 young children). The castle is very well preserved. Not much to read in English - but still worthwhile.

Well worth a short 45 minute drive from Madrid. The XV century castle is well restored and it has some nice exhibits, short movie as well as some wonderful tapestry and armors to take a look at. The day we travelled there was even some medieval fight reenactments in the surrounding area to the castle. If traveling with the little... More

Visited the castle on a very cold March day had brilliant sunshine in dispersed with light snow flurries ! So wrap up warm The castle is set elevated above the small town. And has small but nicely presented gardens surrounding it. I did not quiet understand the need for the medieval piped music you could here whilst walking around the... More

The village is a centre of walking and climbing, so can get busy in the summer. The castle is fully intact although parts have been restored. It is well worth a visit and parts are museum like with artefacts and reconstructions of centuries past. The land around the castle is quite small, but well organised into gardens and paths. Worth... Fun castle – good for all ages. They do re-enactments, which is a fun way to get the tour! Easy to get to from Madrid or Segovia (under an hour by car).

Worth the look. The location and the outside of the castle are quite Impressive. Grounds are not to extensive but include gardens and a tournament field. Parking is quite good , but it had quite a few tour busses on site when I was there and was partially closed for a "Special Event" (this is a staple of Spanish castles... More

I went to visit this castle with a couple of friends from Madrid, which is about 45-60 mins drive away. Really enjoyable, although heavily restored, it has largely been sensitively done and allows visitors with a bit of imagination, a glimpse into times passed. Great views from the ramparts of the surrounding mountains and reservoir, which was remarkably alive with... More
