This is an amazing monastery. The cloisters are fantastic. The monks regularly do the Gregorian Chant and you have to be there to appreciate it. We stayed at a lovely little hotel in the middle of the village directly opposite the Monastery.

On the morning we went there were 18 monks singing Gregorian chants. Worth the trip. Magical! Pay attention to the "locals" in attendance for cues on when to stand or sit.

Please, visit this monastery, feel the history. A guided visit is available and will help you to understand the meaning of every single detail. The pharmacy is another treasure inside.

You have to be there for Vespers, about 7 pm, when the monks render homage to their Creator with Gregorian Chant. It is a religious experience despite and because of its beauty. The Cloister itself is a treat. I recommend reading about it before visiting....More
