There are a couple of pallozas of Celtic origin, which are low stone houses with thatched roofs where people lived with their animals.

There are a few of the huts in the hamlet, but none seemed to be open to the public. I is nice to see they are well maintained.

It was very interesting to see the houses that people used to live in (and some still do) over 1,000 metres up in the mountains and how their design enabled them to cope with the harsh weather.

Pallozas are, thatched round dwellings that house the people and their cattle in one room. Similar dwellings can be found in Ireland and Scotland.

It was wet and cold the time we spent in this area and we left before this was open for visitors but we did get to see inside

It was a nice surprise to find these quaint Celtic huts in O Cebreiro. One is open to visit and gives you a glimpse at life over a millennium ago.

Might be your only chance on the Camino to see the way people lived in these house/huts on top of the cold mountain. Signage could be better and there are no guides but you can use your imagination to think how people lived in these...More
