Great half day rafting trip during our autumn vacation with the family.
River conditions were easy.
A lot of fun and great guides!
NOASC offer: rafting, guiding, mountain biking etc. Many years experience in Niseko.
Give them a go.
Thanks Ross. You are a legend!

I and my friend went rafting with these guys in Min June. Mid June means that the bulk of the spring water from snow melting has already subsided. The river is still fun and is very enjoyable for some nice rafting. The grade was probably a 2 with stints of 3 every now and then.

We went out with two boats. One for me and my friend plus the guide. The other boat where rafting guides doing their training. Our guide was very accommodating letting us have some fun jumping off the raft and trying some fun exercises in between the rapids.

They provide a photographer who takes a few shots from the river bank at a couple of places and we got some good frames to take home. Note that the pictures are extra but it's not very expensive and neither is the whole rafting. The pictures are provided on a DVD. Too bad a usb alternative is not offered.

The guide spoke perfect English and communicating will not be an issue. The staff were very friendly as well but it will help if you speak Japanese if you want to be able to speak to all of them.

It's good to know that they can pick you up at the Kutchan. Kutchan is a JR station before Niseko, the trains are arrive at this station more frequently than Niseko, at least in summer.

All in all it was a very good experience and I recommend anyone to Use this company, at least for rafting :)

We (family of five -mum, dad, two teenagers, and a seven year old) went white water rafting with Noasc on a Saturday in early July 2016. We had a great morning out.

For most of the family it was the first time in a raft, although we're all fit and active. Noasc pitched its service perfectly for us.

We had Hugo, our fun-loving and very experienced English speaking guide, who took us thoroughly through the safety procedures and taught us the basic skills.

The scenery from the river was beautiful and we happened to choose a nice day for it. Weather was warm and dry.

The 'rapids' on the river were Category 1 and 2 (i.e. tame). Provided just enough challenge for our party.

The equipment was all evidently well-used but serviceable. I would rethink whether I actually needed a wetsuit in future. I was hot for the duration of the trip.

We spent about 90 minutes in total on the water, which included time for horseplay, and a brief stop to 'swim' some rapids. Getting kitted up and getting to the river also took time. We arrived at the Noasc HQ at 09:15 and were done by lunchtime.

The cost was around ¥5800 each for the 'adults' and ¥5000 for the seven year old. Not a cheap morning out, but I thought it provided reasonable value for money. You can buy a CD with professional photos for ¥3000.

Overall, noting criticism by previous reviewers, I'd say this was a fantastic family outing, but you need to manage your expectations: if it's major thrills and spills you're after, go to a theme park.

Pros: Great guides, timely pickups and drop offs
Cons: Very short <5 minute runs, low vertical, few runs
NOASC's website said 700m vertical runs, I'd be surprised if we did 200m. The runs were 3-5 minutes long on low angle terrain at Iwanai. It was a fun time, but the cost was far too expensive for the experience. I contacted NOASC about their website's stated vertical and they admitted it was incorrect, but did not offer an accommodation or explanation. We had 8 very good skiers and boarders and I think everyone was disappointed. If you are looking for an easy day you'll be happy, if you're looking for cat accessed fun terrain, it comes up very short.

Gears old, rafts are old, life jackets are old, helmets are old. River is incredibly boring.
If you're going to go on that river you might has well go with a company that gives you newer gear.

Made a booking, Summer River Rafting, via online. We were picked up in a clean and cosy van from Kutchan station to NOASC base. Our guides/ instructors; Ganesh and Ian were friendly and funny. They made us comfortable throughout the rafting by making jokes and funny comments. As this was our first time rafting, they made sure that we enjoyed ourselves and had fun and ensure that we were safe. Thank you for the memorable experiences.

I have a great lesson with Jeff. He was easy going and provided help and insights which really helped my skiing. On top of this he also knows the Niseko Mountain which meant we were also skiing on the best parts of the hill.

My Son and I had private lessons with two great instructors who brought challenge and fun to the day. I was helped with carving and short radius turns while my son was taken back country and harder stuff.

Get more out of your ski time with these guys. you won't be disappointed.

P.S. they will pick you up from your hotel.
