A must see during your battle of the bulge ( Ardennes - Bastogne ) visit
Aug 2020
This is a site ( massacre of US Army POWs at the Crossroads nearby ) of historical importance to show how the situation can have a decisive impact on individual soldiers. Visiting the memorial site and the museum is a must see for every interested person in the Battle of the Ardennes. Fantastic collection of historical correct uniforms and equipment and very wel displayed. The audio system works splendid and is even overwhelming in its information in so far it can become to much. The uniformed mannequins, the equipment, armory, information, rewards, badges,.... highly informative. A MUST SEE!!! Friendly staff, top location, up to date and a small cafetaria in annexe. Don't forget to visit also LA GLAIZE museum with the kings tiger tank ( Königstiger Panzer ). Remember the hardship these men went through in the frostbite of the winter 1944 into 1945. So many got maimed, prisoner of war or lost their live. Respect

My husband and were in Baugnez to see the crossroads and memorial for the Malmedy massacre. We talked about skipping this museum but I quickly checked online reviews and we changed our minds. The reviews were correct, THIS little museum was amazing. The audio tour was excellent and we were surprised by the the quality of the exhibits and the sheer volume of WWII historical objects was overwhelming. Do not think twice about visiting this museum!

Great museum

We were given a handheld radio that instructed us on where to go and extensive commentary on everything we looked at.
Was very interesting and humbling to learn about what happened in the very area we were staying at.

The museum was very well done and worth a visit to appreciate the atrocities that happened here. It is on the sight of the actual massacre of American soldiers.

Very interesting and lots of local detail

This was an excellent little museum with a good audio guide. There is plenty of parking and the museum was on the main road and well signposted. The exhibits were very good but there was a definite lack of descriptions in English, only partly compensated for by the audio guide. The emphasis was very much on what we call the Malmedy massacre (although it actually took place about 100m from the museum) and associated local fighting with some good dioramas and original photos as well as the usual arms, equipment and vehicles. Well worth a visit.

Well worth a visit

This museum is certainly worth the entrance money, not expensive either. Very informative using hand held audio guides. Interesting film to start the tour. Well thought out displays. Certainly makes you think about the futility of war and the horrendous acts that took place.

Fantastic Museum

This museum is a real gem! We loved it here. The displays and audio guide are excellent. We loved the short movie as well. This is one of those places that aren't well known but are amazing. We visited Normandy where there were lots of visitors and rightly so and are so glad we went to Belgium to see where the Battle of the Bulge was fought.

This looks like a relatively new museum that’s had a lot of money spent on it. Great audio tour. Lots to look at. And a surprisingly good restaurant downstairs

A vast improvement and great museum

I visited this museum some years ago when it had first opened and was impressed with the collection of items. However, some pieces felt out of place, and as a collector and historian of the US Army in WWII, included some items that were not even from the period.

We recently visited Belgium with some like-minded friends who had not seen the museum, and since I knew it had been taken over by a very well known European collector, I was keen to see if things had improved. I was delighted to note that they had indeed, and the museum now contains a fantastic collection of extremely rare artefacts you won't find anywhere else.

The museum also covers the subject of the Malmedy Massacre with extreme sensitivity and the whole place is extremely informative. When visiting, be sure to see the actual memorial situated on the site of the massacre, about 100 meters away from the museum. I can't recommend this place highly enough!
