junglegold chocolate factory now only one factory and mian outlet in Mengwi, one shop and cafe in sanur, also a express cafe at domestic airport.they already closed that one in carangsari, once a factory and main outlet with an elephant camp.few years ago,i visited carangsari factory. this year, when i revisited Bali in June, i decided to visit them again.and found that Pod already renamed as junglegold. i attended a chocolate making workshop there. when arrived , the staff told me better make chocolate first, cuz have to freeze it in the refrigerator. the making is simple, they already prepared chocolate liquor and some nuts, i just need to pour them into a mould.after that, she took the mould away, and guided me to look around the factory. the chocolate factory tour is simple, but ok, you can see the cacao tree, the staff even plucked one to show me the beans inside, and i taste the bean, like manggis.after that, she gave me the whole cacao fruit. she also guided me to see the chocolate making process, explained functions of certain machines. when the tour finished, i ordered an iced chocolate at their cafe, drinking it and waiting for the chocolate bar i made, also bought some chocolates there. the design and packing of Junglegold is beautiful. i felt happy after had the chocolate drinks and bought some delicious chocolate bars. will come again.

Came to the main factory store in Mengwi. You can samples the many flavours of chocolates - dark, creamy, white. Some are vegan (without any milk and are coconut oil based) Quite delicious! We didn't have to pay any entrance fee to visit this store.

This store is different from the other store (Pod Origin) that is on the grounds of the Bali Elephant camp. I think visitors confuse the 2 stores.

Went here during Christmas. Joined the tour and it’s really educational. You will learn a lot and actually tried the fruit. It was such an interesting experience to try and you can try the chocolate making as well. Really suitable for teen and young family.

Smells nice when you enter and you get a brief 10 minute tour of their factory.

The chocolate - grainy, doesn’t taste particularly refined. Flavours aren’t all that either. The good thing is that you can taste all you want before buying.

This is called the “outlet”, but prices are 1000 cheaper at Coco Supermarket. Not that much of a difference but still.

Mocha Frappe was nice, ice chocolate was “ok”. If you want the best Ice Chocolate, go to Pison Ubud.

They wanted to charge me 5000 for a glass of tap water for my kid.

Overall, an ok visit, disappointing chocolate. Wouldn’t recommend coming all the way for this.

We a had an beautiful experience at Pod. The kitchen looks very clean, tasty chocolates and loved the explanation about the progress of making chocolate. When we did the chocolate making bit, unfortunately the chocolate provided is not tempered at all. So the chocolate you take home is grainy and very unpleasant to eat. You do a great job of making the chocolate from scratch. But the customer gets a different experience as its not tempered at all. It was nice to see the cacao trees as well but was hoping to see fruit on them.

Visited this cool and small chocolate manufacture. The provide a short tour with good explanations in English. All ingredients are sourced from Bali and everything is done by hand. They have a nice variety of dark and milk chocolate, which you taste all. Great place and lovely peo6!

We went as a family unit of 15. Huge amount of variety in their chocolate. Tasted all their chocolate, about 6 made their own which was fun to watch. Windows into the factory were worth looking through. Their coffee was very unpleasant, tasted burnt.

We walked in and were instructed to taste the free chocolate samples. There is a video room and window to view staff in factory kitchen. We purchased several flavors of milk and dark chocolate as gifts and four ourselves. The bars are sold individually and in large and small sets.

We spent some time here as we went to the Pod Chocolate retail store about a 15 min drive away as we thought this would be a nicer place and have a cafe etc for lunch.

There’s no food here for a start. So if you’d like coffee and some chocolate it’s probably good.

But there’s also a guard charging for entry at Rp90k per person at the entrance - but failed to mention this doesn’t include anything - you can have a Rp10k discount off the same chocolate you could buy in a supermarket (which we did!) for Rp5k less.

The elephant riding is very zoo-like and the animals are contained in a very small enclosure- not really our thing.
