Biella, like Bergamo has a lower and upper part. The Piazzo, the upper part, can be reached by car, but careful where you park or using a cable car (Funicolare).
If you don't mind walking park the car in the area of the station downtown and ride the cable car to the Piazzo. You will have a good view of Biella and in a sunny day you will have the opportunity to see far sometimes also Novara. When you arrive to the Piazzo station after a few minutes you will find yourself in another world. Small streets porches and then in the Piazza Cisterna with the Cisterna Palace. It is a calm area with old buildings. The house of Amedeo Avogadro, the house of the General Lamarmora and nearby gardens with spectacular view on the mountains. It is truly worth to spend a few hours in Piazzo and ythere you can have a nice lunch or dinner.
