Fermo is a very nice town with a rich history as the town used to be an important centre since Roman times. The piazza is very big and beautiful with several restaurants, bars and pizzerias plus a few shops. No cars allowed so safe very for children. There is a museum with beautiful pieces including a Rembrandt near the far corner of the square.

This square has been featured in a number of magazines as one of the most beautiful the region. It has a curious shape of an arrow. There are interesting medieval builidings, cafés and bars where you can stop for a drink or snack.

This is a great little spot to have a lazy long afternoon lunch or early drinks as the sun goes down. Surrounded by lovely little cafes it is a great place to people watch. We had breakfast in town one morning when a group of vintage cars all arrive and pulled up in the piazza which was lovely to have a close up look at. Good spot and one you cannot miss during your visit to Fermo.

Fermo is well off the beaten tourist path, so it may come as a surprise when you first encounter this large, long, elegant piazza lined with bars and restaurants. Well worth a detour.
