Shahr-i Sokhta is located in Zabol neighborhood, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. The place is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites. Its meaning in the English language is "Burnt City". The structures, burial grounds and a large number of significant artifacts unearthed there, and their well-preserved state due to the dry desert climate, make this site a rich source of information regarding the emergence of complex societies and contacts between them in the third millennium BC.

It’s only 6 percent of what it really was more than 5000 years ago. Such civilization is unbelievable. The first of many things have been discovered from its graves. The first animation drown on a pottery vessel, the first artificial eyeball, the ruler with 0.5 mm accuracy and many other astonishing tools, jewelries and even textures. So don’t forget the museum just the other side of the road. Many of discoveries from the city are held there. Note that the site is very vast so get a bottle of water at the gate.
P.S. As I have reported before this listing is not in Jiroft and is in Zabol. And the main listing photo is irrelevant. This is a picture of "kooh khaje" another listing in Zabol
