We did the Al Pacca trekking and it was fabulous. Having the opportunity to get up close and walk your very own Al Pacca was such a wonderful experience - Thistle & Bramble (my hubby and I’s Al Pacca’s) were beautiful and so well behaved. Meg was an excellent guide and clearly knew each animal well - matching them to the right people and having them walk with their friends. She explained each Al Pacca’s personality and quirks to each person, making sure they felt comfortable at all times. The farm is small but well maintained and all the animals are clearly loved. The meerkats are soooo cute too!! I would recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys being around animals - 5 stars ⭐️

Highly recommend this place
After searching the internet for things to do with our day out in Mansfield nearly all soft play areas was closed due to COVID. We found this farm in a Google search and looked on Facebook and luckily it was open! We was greeted by very welcoming staff who signed us in and took details for the track and trace which was excellent. We walked to the first bit of the park and it chucked it down with rain! We went to sit in the cafe area with a hot drink and snacks until the rain cleared up. The cafe area is nicely spaced out and very within 2 meters for everyone to feel comfortable. After the rain stopped we headed back onto the farm. We was then asked if our 2 girls (aged 8 and 2 years) wanted to have a meet and stroke some of the smaller animals. My 8 year old absolutely loved this and can not wait to show friends the pictures we took. The staff knew we travelled far (from hull) so they really looked after us and we had such a lovely time here. Highly recommend for a nice day out (even if it does rain, it’s still fun, dig your welly’s out!). Very affordable price too much cheaper then a theme park and the kids will probably enjoy it more too!!
Thank you for a great day

Can’t believe I have never heard of Willow Tree Farm before.
It came up on Wowcher and I booked afternoon tea, entry into farm and Alpaca Walk.
My 9 year old daughter and I honestly loved it. The afternoon tea was plentiful, lovely sandwiches, crisps, huge scone, Victoria sponge and fondant fancy.
The farm itself yes is small but I actually Prefer this, you get a much more personal and interactive experience compared to a larger zoos/wildlife parks. The animals were all cared for and looked happy.
Every single member of staff had a smile on their face, happy to talk to you and answer any questions. All said “hello” to you when you walked past. Honestly this was so refreshing.
Our Alpaca walk was brilliant. We walked “Pedro” and had the best time. The walk was much longer than I expected and the guide (sorry I have forgot your name) was very informative, chatty, and a really lovely person. Plenty of time to take selfies with your Alpaca.
We spent around 3 hours at the farm which I would say is a good amount of time.

Price wise I was surprised how good value everything was. We purchased animal food and got a big bag of mixed foods to food different animals.

Honestly Willow Tree Farm you have a lovely set up. Hopefully we will back next week to feed the lambs!

I wasn’t expecting much from this place however I was pleasantly surprised! Yes the place is a little run down and tired, but that shouldn’t stop you visiting. There are three great kids play areas including sandpits, toddler area with ride in cars, two new bouncy pillows too.

The are several animals to see including wallabies, sheep, goats, reindeers, birds, tortoises, meerkats Etc. Plus a woodland walk where we saw lots of fairy trails. There were two live performances today including a pirate show then a beauty and the beast show with Interaction for kids so lots of dancing and singing with prizes. All socially distanced!

We also did the meerkat experience and Tony was very knowledgeable who told us all about the meerkats. We got to feed them and stroke them. Great experience.

The price was very reasonable. We did the meerkat experience purchased direct through their website and therefore includes entrance. This way is cheaper than booking through Groupon plus all the money goes to the farm. The farm is charity and is a great cause!

We spent all day there, so just over 5 and a half hours.

Food looked pretty huge and good value. Breakfast £7, jacket £4, kids meals £4.

Visited today for the first time with hubby , my elderly grandma (our first time out since lockdown) and two thirteen year olds . Teens did the alpaca walk which included cream tea , it was amazing value for money , the lady who did this (sorry forgot your name) very knowledgable . We booked online but upon arrival they hadn’t received our booking however this was sorted immediately and girls got to participate . Staff professional and lovely . We also all Felt very safe , everyone was abiding the one way system and lots of santizer and hand washing points and it wasn’t half as busy as we was expecting. General admission was £4.50 and we spent 4 hours there such good value. Animals all appeared clean , healthy and cared for . Definitely looking forward to visiting again soon. Keep up the excellent work everyone :-)
Oh and those scones was delicious!!

Booked on wowcher for a cream tea and alpaca walk.

The farm itself is very disappointing. Lots of animals to see and feed but many of the animals appear stressed. The donkey is obviously terrified of the ponies and the ponies bite/kick the donkey when anyone walks near the fence as they expect food.

The rabbits and guinea-pigs are kept in tiny hutches in a dark "hut". If i'm honest, the majority of the enclosures appeared small.

Meerkats kept themselves in their burrows yet staff still allowed "meerkat experiences" where people sat on benches inside the enclosure.

The Alpaca walk was ok. You walk around a mini trail around some woods then back through the farm and around a field. Some of the Alpacas were rearing up and got labeled "stubborn".

The food wasn't up to much and the cream tea was a let down.

As an adult I did not enjoy my day and i will not be returning. Having said that, my 9year old had a great day even if he "felt sorry" for the animals.

Wow! First day opening after lockdown, yet this place can't even fill up their hand sanitiser or empty a bin. I took my 2 year old son here today with a friend thinking it would be a lovely trip out post lockdown...how wrong was I. They obviously over booked as it was absolutely packed!! Half the farm was closed off for an Easter egg hunt, so despite paying full price there wasn't much to see at all. The hand sanitiser was empty and when I ventured to the toilet I couldn't even use the baby changing as the door wouldn't close. The female toilets were disgusting and the bin was over flowing. My friend and I were absolutely apauled by the state of the animals, considering this place hasn't had any visitors for months, fences were broken and some of the animals looked unkempt and uncared for. Come to lunch time and as a heavily pregnant woman with a toddler, the place was so busy there was nowhere to sit and eat, which meant we had to sit on the floor so my son could eat the snacks I had brought for him. I on the other hand could not order food as I couldn't get a table to order from (not ideal when you are 33 weeks pregnant). All in all I would not recommend visiting this place. I certainly won't be returning! What a shame

Good Afternoon thank you for highlighting your views following your visit. All our hand sanitisation points were checked regularly throughout the day (18 points) along with our hot water hand-wash stations (4point) if any of these wasn't operating effectively a member of our team would have assisted in this matter. the site has 43 benches throughout our site (37 located around the cafe and playground) during our busy period all benches around the cafe was in use but we worked to ensure visitors was able to be seated when possible. if pregnant and required a seat if made known to a member of the team we would have sorted this promptly for you. in relation to site being half closed off, to confirm the only the indoor reptile house was closed for animal viewing following governmentguidelines. the woodland area where the event was taking place does not house any animals so all outdoor animals are able to be viewed. toilets, our toilets are checked at times through the day but during busy times 11.30am - 2pm do have much heavier use. If the toilets were below standards please again speak to a member of the team who would have addressed this. Baby change door, I have checked this and noticed it does stick when closing but does lock. we have actioned this to be sorted. As being our first day of re-opening we was at 78% capacity but within our reduced limited rates. in relation to animal welfare standards, we maintain well above the requirements of animals welfare practice. you may have noticed the large volume of new fencing awaiting to be installed in the yard area but this has been delayed due to contractors but is a task we are undertaking. we are saddened to hear your displeasure during your visit. As it was the first day of reopening evidently we are seeing a greater volume of visitors at present. if any of these points were made known on your visit our team would have been able to address the matters raised kind regards

We had the most wonderful time with the Alpaca experience. The alpacas were clearly loved by the workers- they spoke about them with incredible knowledge and compassion. Our guide was Luke- who was incredible. He was kind and helpful and full of encouragement for all the guests. As they are a charity it would be wonderful if they offered sponsorship of the alpacas! We would definitely be interested.

Booked a meerkat experience for up to six people - 30 minutes in the pen with them, a lovely talk from their keeper & also able to feed them - excellent value as we were able to spend as long as we liked at the farm seeing all the other residents Lamas, wallabies, reindeer, pigs, donkeys + children's pets.
The bags of animal feed at £3 were great value and had a range of food.
The way round was signposted and it felt very safe, with hand sanitizer stations and large covered areas for picnics etc
Some of the paths could do with maintenance for walking devices, but still saw lots and thoroughly enjoyed it!

We visited Willow Tree Farm with family and had a wonderful day.

We were lucky enough to have booked the Meerkat experience and everyone loved it. It was so well organised and safe. My 3 1/2 year old daughter was able to sit on the bench with her Auntie and Grandad, feeding them mealworms from a little bowl. They happily came onto their knees and around their feet to feed and be stroked as well as playing close to them.

We also went to see the baby lambs and because the farm was lovely and quiet at that point, they were kind enough to let my daughter feed one of the babies a bottle of milk. She thought it was the most amazing experience ever and it really was over and above of them to include her.

Afterwards we had a lovely day visiting the other animals and playing in the play parks. There were goats and alpacas roaming in a lovely big field and the new wooden adventure playground at the end of the woodland walk was excellent.

We enjoyed a cream tea as part of our experience in the cafe which was delicious and served with wonderful smiles.

We didn’t know this farm existed until the experience was booked as a Christmas gift, but we’ll definitely be back. It was small but perfect and all of the team we spoke to were kind and friendly. They also provide an alternate education setting and it was great to see the kids getting involved with the farm.
