Astounding but needing work

Like so many other religious structures in France this huge building is in a somewhat sorry state, with crumbling spires and fenced off parts inside. It is still an amazing sight, dominating the surrounding town, and well worth visiting. This has been a religious site for over one and a half thousand years and the current church, dating from the 12th century, has some wonderful exterior sculptures. There are many superb stained glass windows but because of the partitions installed for safety it is hard to see some of them. It’s free to visit and free parking is easy to find nearby.

Magnificent architecture...

Bang smack in the centre of town this church is certainly full of history. It's well kept in side and used for modern worship. The beauty of building and artefacts is stunning.Reminded me of a small Notre Dame.

It's free to enter,

Awesome
Aug 2018 • Couples
We were staying nearby and decided to have a look around the town as the shops were shut due to public holiday. There is plenty of parking outside which is free. What a surprise, it’s a church built in the style of a Gothic cathedral, very impressive. There are some very interesting and fine statues, carvings and wall paintings inside. It’s a pity that the outside is crumbling but it would obviously cost a fortune to restore due to its size. We had the whole place to ourselves.

Beautiful historic church
May 2018 • Couples
Since our attempt to get a guided tour of Fort Gisors was a bust (tours which were supposed to take place at 10:00 am and 11:00 am both were cancelled with no prior notice) we tried to salvage our visit to Gisors by going to this lovely church. My words can do little justice to its historic beauty so I will rely on my photos to do so. Well worth a visit!

Unique Gothic Architecture
Oct 2016 • Family
On the way from Giverny to Paris, the stopover at Gisors is a reminder of the long history of the ownership of this region by brits.
Gisors is one of the major strongholds in Normandy.
After visiting the castle, the church is another example of unique architecture.
The Collégiale Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais is a fine example of Gothic Art. It is worth visiting (I was impressed by a wall painting of a skeleton figuring the Christ).

Such a lovely place to find tucked down a random side street - with the libraries in front there is much to see in this area; with some very nice family run restaurants in the surrounding side streets.
Pack your camera and go and find this place!! (read up too; lot's of history to be found)

Another monument in a very bad condition, shameful!
Aug 2015 • Friends
Another monument left to decay! Just wondered who was responsible, some said the mayor cannot care less about the historical treasures, others that the historical monuments had their part in that shameful situation, anyway they all should be ashamed of themselves, they do not have much in the city but what they have they are unable to make it worth a visit!

Beautiful example of Gothic architecture, lots of wonderful photos to be taken from every angle, inside & out. It has a large rose window, & interesting spiral staircase.
